4.0 out of 5 stars Maybe Not Best Ever, but Pretty Good 2 Mar 2012
By G-Dub in SF - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
It's a pretty bold title, using the words "Best" and "Ever". It probably should be called 'Some Really Good Acoustic Guitar Songs But There May Be Some You Like That We Left Out That Will Be Included in Another Volume That You Will Have To Purchase Separately'. That being said, there are some really good songs in here. I do like most of the songs included with this book, but some don't seem to feature the acoustic guitar as prominently as others. In my opinion (as a beginner guitar enthusiast), I would say that about three quarters of the songs are really great for acoustic guitar. If you aren't familiar with a particular song, you can check it out on YouTube to hear how it is supposed to sound.

This is a quality soft cover book. The sheet music is easy to read and includes TAB. It has a guitar notation legend in the back that explains the meaning of symbols/music notations. Also, there is a pretty good range with respect to level of difficulty. Some of the songs you can pick up quickly and some will take a little more time to master.

Below is a complete list of songs included with this book:

Across the Universe - The Beatles
Against the Wind - Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band
Angie - The Rolling Stones
Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You - Led Zeppelin
Behind Blue Eyes - The Who
Breaking the Girl - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Crazy on You - Heart
Daughter - Pearl Jam
Disarm - Smashing Pumpkins
Dust in the Wind - Kansas
Every Rose Has Its Thorn - Poison
Foolin' - Def Leppard
Free Fallin' - Tom Petty
Have You Ever Seen the Rain? - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Heaven Beside You - Alice in Chains
I'd Love to Change the World - Ten Years After
Iris - Goo Goo Dolls
Jane Says - Jane's Addiction
The Joker - Steve Miller Band
Landslide - Fleetwood Mac
Like the Way I Do - Melissa Etheridge
Love the One You're With - Stephen Stills
Maggie May - Rod Stewart
Melissa - The Allman Brothers Band
More than Words - Extreme
Norwegian Wood - The Beatles
Pink Houses - John Mellencamp
Signs - Tesla
Silent Lucidity - Queensryche
The Space Between - Dave Matthews Band
Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton
Thick as a Brick - Jethro Tull
Upside Down - Jack Johnson
Wanted Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi
You've Got a Friend - James Taylor

1.0 out of 5 stars Best Acoustic Guitar Songs Ever 8 Aug 2009
By Charles W. Register - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
A real disappointment......There are so many more better songs than the majority of the ones in this songbook. The title is very misleading......Do not buy this if you are looking for a great selection of acoustic guitar songs.
