The accompanying CD makes the phrases sink in easily and gives you proper pronunciation. There is a male and a female voice. The phrases are spoken twice, the first time slowly and then at a normal speed. The book has a very neat and pleasant layout with the Swedish version highlighted in bold script.

this phrasebook was ok but I thought the cd that accompanied it may have been a bit dubious. this is because one of the first phrases on the cd asked where is the nearest restaurant. the Swedish form seemed to be where are the toilets. this reminded me of a monty python sketch where the poor Hungarian with the dodgy English phrase book wants to ask the shop keeper for a box of matches and instead asks something rude, I can't remember what he asks exactly, but I'm sure you get the idea.

now, if I went to Sweden and used what I learned from this cd, I could get myself into all sorts of bother. therefore, I have rated the phrasebook ok and the cd possibly iffy.
