After a year in Norway this has covered most of my requirements even as my language skills have improved. Of course it's limited compared to thicker tomes and the font size is small but the compromises necessary to get it to fit easily into your pocket have been sensible ones.
For the more occasional traveller it should prove of great benefit but only if you're aware of basic norsk pronunciation for which you must have prior access to a CD, DVD or live Norwegian!

It's smaller than I was expecting: eminently pocket-sized no doubt, at the expense of restricting the number of words listed.

This is the stupidest dictionary I've ever used, and I've learnt five languages before.
The problem is it contains far too many of the words that are so similar to English that anyone with two brain cells to rub together would recognise them without a dictionary, and it has far too few of the words that are too different to be able to just guess.
In the Norsk-English section there should be basically no words that are so similar they're obvious and rather prioritise in such a small dictionary mainly the words that are not easily guessable.
I've been here a week now and I've given up with this dictionary, because none of the words I can't just guess anyway are in it. I wasn't looking for advanced technical words, just going round the supermarket buying food and found it useless.
