I bought this to prepare for my holiday and this book has really helped. The chapters cover most essential topics a traveller will need, and I feel I will be able to manage the basics when I go. What I consider to be a must though is the CD which comes with it, you listen and repeat phrases from the book and I found it vital in hearing the pronunciation of words and letter sounds. Although the book does explain (e.g c - like ts in lots) it doesnt compare to hearing and then trying it yourself. I also wanted to get used to hearing phrases as spoken which this CD has achieved. The book itself will be easily stuffed into my bag on holiday as it is quite compact and also easy to quickly look up the relevent section when on the go. There is some language and grammer detail in the book and dictionary section but my main interest is in the everyday phrases which are well and truly covered. A superb little book for holiday survival and conversation.

I bought this product following the advise of another reviewer, mentioning that this phrase book would be a good start to seriously learn the language.
This book offers your extensive vocabulary and simple sentences on everyday tasks. The perfect book to take with you on a Croatian holiday just in case you need to report something to the police and order a meal in a restaurant. In my opinion, this booklet is certainly NOT for serious learners of this exotic language, but only casual travellers.
