I have been travelling overseas for six weeks and had two suitcases and no hands left for additional luggage. This rucksack has been excellent for day to day use. I have packed it to the gills or just put a few things in. The various zips and compartments have been very useful and I particularly like the front pouch for easy to grab items like sunglasses and earphones.

The side water bottle holders are very good as I have needed to carry water all the time. The bottles do not fall out. The internwl mesh holder for laptop is excellent and has meant that I can carry a MacBook, iPad and Kindle comfortably right next to my back and make use of the chest strap and hip straps when fully loaded like a pack horse.

I am really pleased that I went for this size as it has meant that I have had the maximum flexibility for large and small loads.

Highly recommended.

Berghaus Remote Backpack 30 lt

I was looking for something that looked good was'nt too big and had plenty of pockets, room for a camera and spare clothing and all my travel documents. This backpack ticked all the boxes for me.

Bottle pocket(s)
Zipped front pocket(s)
Padded laptop sleeve
Internal organiser
Pocket on shoulder strap

I would definately recommend this bag.

I was looking for a bag that would serve as a school bag, hike bag and just about everything else bag.
this bag fits my 15" MBP and 2 nalgenes if you so desire! the net pouches are plenty big enough! Even with a laptop in there is space for gym wear and pencil case and note pad.

I bought a red version initially for the wife and being quite pleased with it, I also got a black one for myself. The carrier handle and the two loops for the walking poles in the black version are now just made of fabric instead of equiped withthe plastic reinforcements. Especially when the bag is heavy the fact that the carrier handle seems just half the strenght of the previous version causes me some concern. So the picture shown does not reperesent the thing you get. I hope this reduction in quality does not translate to the rest of the backpack. Good points are: the extra space created by the frontpocket makes this a more spacious bag. The little lips on the zips gives you an option to connect the zip ends, nice when you are in a crowded place and somebody tries to open the zip behind you to nick something.

At long last an excellent all-rounder backpack. Great for around town/sightseeing, commuting, walking and cycling. My other Berghaus hillwalking rucksack (Freeflow 35+8) has a sort of frame that is great for ventilating my back when hillwalking but is useless for cycling as it pushes my head forward when in a cycling position. The Berghaus Remote backpack is great for all activities. Plenty storage compartments and very good quality material. Highly recommend.

I needed a backpack for a cold weather trip to the Arctic Circle which would also double up as a travelling bag for my laptop etc along the journey. After quite a trawl through all of the options I settled on this one and it turnbed out to be perfect for the job.

I was looking for a sturdy all-purpose, urban, laptop bag: this probably isn't it. It is constructed using very thin, waterproof material, and the laptop sleeve is just a mesh pocket inside the wider compartment. My Macbook Air fits comfortably but if you have anything that's heavier or larger, it'll likely rip the pocket. I've been using it for about a month now, and the back - which was stiff when new - is already beginning to bend. While only time will tell how durable the bag is, I'm not feeling confident. The only positive is the weight - it's very light.

The quality and features just don't justify the price. I regret not picking a Wenger.

Just what I wanted. For walks with children when they shed clothing I needed a ruck sack I could stuff it all in.along with lunch.. But with plenty of special pockets so I can still locate my own stuff so this 30 litre version of their standard rucksack does the trick. I chose berg house as it is more durable. I have had cheaper rucksacks but hey deteriorate more quickly and less pockets and, for example, you don't quite trust the water bottles not to fall out of the side...Whereas no worries with this one. Price here was very good compared to the standard rrp too which made a difference.
