Berghaus keep improving their products with little tweaks here and there each year. I bought this one for my wife because I was so happy with the men's version that I bought myself about 7 years ago. This version is designed with female anatomy and proportions in mind, has adjustable everything, pockets in all the right places, strong construction, which if using the same materials as older versions, is very durable. Compared with mine, there is more scope for adjustment of the various shoulder/chest/waist straps; the rigid back has been made flatter to make it easier to fill but still keeps the main body of the rucksack away from your back, to aid air flow; the pockets are easier to get access to than my rucksack and it also has the addition of expanding bellows type pockets and compression straps. It still keeps features such as space for a water pouch (e.g. Camelback) with an exit hole for the tube, a feature than I have found invaluable for drinking at regular intervals without needing to stop. There is also still the waterproof cover, neatly stowed away, which saves the need to soak the rucksack in silicone waterproofing.
In all, a great rucksack that has all the features you need for a day hike and none of the features you don't want.
