Although the Bergerac TV series now lies well in the past, this book remains a good, if idiosyncratic introduction to the island. Highly recommended to anyone visiting or interested in Jersey. It will enhance the pleasure of a visit.

Lovely book, well written and researched, although a bit old now, doesn't matter as is a grand read by charming and erudite John Nettles

A very accessible book. John Nettles has a nice easy to read writing style. Having got so used to him in Midsomer it was a bit of a surprise to see pictures of him in his Bergerac years.
