I brought this go kart for a Christmas present to my son. It arrived 3 days after I placed the order brill. I didn't know what to expect, was It gonna be I a thousand bits or what. The go kart has only 2 bolts in the frame, fitted the wheels and seat. This was the most basic build to put together. I would rate the service and go kart 10 out of 10 and would recommend to anyone.

1.0 out of 5 stars Check chains before assembling 9 Dec 2012
By Jason - Published on Amazon.com
Bought this from Costco for my daughter who is 4. Glad I tried to put it together well before Christmas! I was very excited about this toy! Put it all together in about 30 minutes. Tried it out in the garage by moving the pedals with my hands. Chain fell off right away. The chain is in its own housing. Takes 30 minutes to get to it. Saw that sprocket on rear wheel moves up and down axel, causing wheels to lock up or chain to fall off. There is nothing holding sprocket in place. Took it apart and it's going back. Make sure you test the chains well before wasting your time like I did. Really bummed. I was so excited about this kart.

1.0 out of 5 stars TERRIBLE DEFECTIVE TOY! ! ! 21 Dec 2012

Durability: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
We were so excited to get this for our son. It was easy to assemble and looked great. Our son was so happy when he saw it. We went for a ride around the block and he LOVED it. It was a hit, until he got back on it a few minutes later and the chain came off. The maker warned of this in the instructions, so we were not totaly surprised. My husband spent over an hour trying to put the chain back on, which was not an easy task. We thought we had it solved, but one pedal and it came off again! The next day my husband tried again to fix it, again the chain came off. It was so disappointing, escpeically to our six year old who was so sad about the whole thing. Do yourself a favor and skip it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed 22 Dec 2012

I put it together easily and the wheels locked right away when I peddled by hand. I'm not wasting my time trying to get to chain. It's going back to Costco.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too many problems for what it costs, but nice once you get past them... 2 Jan 2013
By JM - Published on Amazon.com
Like others, we got this at Costco for our 5 year old and he was so excited to see it Christmas morning. On second trip around the block, the chain came off. Manual was good for repairing this, and it took about 15 minutes. However, on the next trip out, the driveline seized up. Took it apart again and found that the set screws holding the rear axle cog in place were not tight. Tightened those up and checked other hardware, finding all to be hand tightened at best. Thought this had it fixed, but on subsequent trips, found that the bottom bracket fitting comes loose. Requires a special bike tool to fix. Bought that part and a crank puller. Now that things are all tight, we should be good to go.

Saw these online for twice what Costco was charging. Had I paid the greater amount, I would be quite upset. It is bad enough even at the price paid and frustrating for not only us but our son as well.

If you buy one of these, check every nut, bolt, set screw and even the chain alignment and tension. It is obvious that these are not inspected well at the factory. Had I seen these most recent reviews, I would have passed. If you are not handy and somewhat mechanically inclined, stay away.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun but breaks down daily! 5 Nov 2013

My 4 year old got this as a christmas gift. It is great fun -- when it works. The chain falls off regularly (at least once a week if you ride it daily) and is kind of a pain to get to. If not for that, I would give it a 5!
