I've had this vegetable slicer for 5 months now and wanted to wait before leaving a review so it was a honest one. I have other makes of vegetable slicer that make vegetable ribbons and coleslaw but this one is by far the best. I've used it very regularly since it arrived and it processed carrots, beetroot, courgette, celeriac, red cabbage, white cabbage, onion to name a few. It makes the most amazing coleslaw and vegetable spaghetti and all it needs is a quick wash under the tap. The blade is simple to change as the two ends are different and only fit one particular way - it comes with a couple of different size blades.
NOW ABOUT THE SUPPLIER
I give the supplier 5 stars as well so don't be frightened to order from Japan
* the questions I asked before purchasing were answered promptly - I did not have to pay import duty
* the first vegetable slicer arrived damaged. I emailed the supplier and he put another one in the post that day - I've kept the damaged one so now have 2 sets of blades!!
* I'd definitely use this supplier again

I love this! I nearly didn't buy it, as I already own the Lurch Spiralo and thought it might be duplicating gadgets. But this one cuts much thinner spirals, which are just lovely for salads (especially carrot and raw beetroot).

So I use this mainly on the finest blade, and the Lurch Spiralo for veggie-spaghetti (although this would probably work for that too, although as it's a smaller machine it would struggle with, say, half celeriac - which the Lurch isn't designed for either, but can be made to do!) and the Lurch wider blade also for skinny twirly chips (cooked in a Philips hot-air fryer).

A really great addition to the health-conscious kitchen, and sure to make kids think salads are more fun.

Nice tool for my kitchen .. I always wanted something similar. However, I bought this from Amazon UK for 48 pounds and the next day was 32 pounds. It was sent from Japan to Cyprus and I had to pay taxes on an invoice from Japan for 21 euros (the actual price of the product). That I didn't like

Arrived quickly from Japan. Appears quite flimsy but cuts vegetables into a variety of different size strips easily. A real addition to the kitchen especially if dieting.

This is an expensive enough "toy" without having to pay extra to have it delivered from Japan. this needs to be made clear on the site

This item will only cut to one thickness. It will do different widths: fine, coarse, medium - but only one thickness, which is very fine.
The blades were completely blunt and would just shred the food (tried potato and daikon).
The cut is not round, but flat, jagged and broken up - not at all the smooth long noodle-like cut you would expect from daikon.

This item is also extremely cheap looking; it is tiny, the plastic feels flimsy and there are literally two screws to hold the flat blade in; the vertical blade is held in by tightening a screw onto the middle of it.

Quite dangerous to remove the remainder of the vegetables from the blades (besides the residues in the blades, you are also left with 1cm thick disc of the vegetable you are preparing).

Steer clear - this is real rubbish.

This handy kitchen gadget - makes spirals- brilliant for my raw food diet- however owing to its small size- it perhaps isn't as fast as some others.Cutting everything up to fit is a bit of a bore. However it does ake good noodles .

Only missed the 5 stars because there is no storage for the blades and the size of veg is limited, and it leaves quite a chunk behind after spiralising. BUT the "coodles" (courgette noodles) are fantastic. The boodles (beetroot noodles) and poodles (potato noodles) were amazing. Fried the poodles. Perfect. Salad with the coodles and the boodles. A little goes a long way. Really filling.
