1.0 out of 5 stars Not a Bengal owner!! - terrible book. Do not buy. 28 July 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Although we are now on our 6th Bengal over quite a few years, I always am on the lookout for books on the subject of these lovely cat's. Unfortunately this book was not one of these. From reading the book, I think that this was written following a trawl of the internet for information as opposed to owning one of these beautiful cat's.

The author has made one huge error in suggesting that it is a good idea to breed from a pet Bengal to get cute kittens that sell. In this age where cat rescue charities have huge numbers of cats, breeding should only be carried out by recognised and registered breeders who breed to improve the quality of cats and not for the money.

There are many other errors in this book regarding Bengals: a few of which are that all Bengals love water (not true) and that Bengals should not have 24hrs access to dry food because they have a tendency to overeat (again not true).

I feel that this book is contrary to the real reason of owning Bengals and has been written with the purpose of making money from writing a book.

Please do not buy this book. There are many, many books out that have been written by breeders and/or genuine Bengal owners whose advice and wisdom is based on experience rather than a simple internet search.

Following some of the advice given in this book could be
detrimental to the health and happiness of your Bengal.

So, to sum up - DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK

4.0 out of 5 stars A short read with helpful info on Bengals 6 Jun. 2013

I was fortunate enough to download this book for free, one day after it released. We own two Bengal cats & the author pretty much hit the nail on the head about them. However, I have yet to meet a cat that "likes" it's bath, contrary to what the book says. I know Bengals love water, but they love dabbling in it, in the toilet, the sink, or when YOU are in the tub. I hope ours learn to like it eventually. Right now it's a dramatic, soaking wet escapade! I would recommend this book if you are thinking about getting a Bengal. It has helpful pricing info & lots of informative attributes you can expect to see out of your Bengal cat. My advice, of course, is to get one. They will provide you with many hours, days & years of entertainment & love.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too Many Inaccuracies! 22 Jan. 2015

I have been a Nationally Reputable Bengal Breeder for over 10 years & a Professional Writer for 25 years. This Author has a good start to a book, but, the wording is somewhat strange & paragraph structure is very repetitive!! The main issue I had with the book though is, that there were several inaccuracies re. the Bengal Breed overall, for that reason more than anything else, I rated this book only "2 Stars"
