The first song I heard off this album was on an Earache compilation CD, it was "My Fever". "Excellent", I thought, a well-vocalled introduction that slams into full thrash with .1mm precision and timing. This really made me want to get the album and so indeed, I did. Best money I'd spent in a long while on a metal CD of any sort!
This band a filled with fantastic musical ideas delivered through music with compassionate anger and a desire to make simply brilliant black metal. They cut no corners with this album, putting a large amount of effort into making it enjoyable to hear after countless listens. They have the art of distortion down to a razor sharp edge with perfect intonation of guitar riffs perfectly aligned with the streaming bass guitar, topped off with the thud of speeding double bass pedals and the rhtymic smack of snares and symbols, all with accurate timing and perfect compatibility with each song and their sections.
The vocals are like no other, subtle but still with that grindcore edge that delivers power and fury to your ears.
This is an album truly not to be missed. And they play it live with excellence as well. Insision are must for gracing your record collection.
Yep, they have all the trademark brutal death metal stuff here, the blastbeats which overpower the guitar riffing, the throaty growls etc. although Insison can apparantly be let off because they don't write lyrics about worshipping satan or sacrificing goats etc. etc. etc.
"My Fever" is only really likeable track here, although everything sounds alike, this track has a nice, jumpy riff in it's chorus.
If you want brutal death metal, ignore Insision and get albums by the legends of the genre...Cannibal Corpse ("Eaten Back To Life") and Carcass ("Symphonies Of Sickness").
Such a shame, seeing as this band have potential, if only they would be more original...
