I chose this as a general-purpose monitor for computer use, for "office" type work, as well as web browsing and occasional DVD playing.
PRESENTATION: came well-packed, and I was impressed by the careful way it had been protected at the factory - protective clear tape around all glossy parts including the stand. The box comes with a power cable (UK 3 pin)quick start guide, booklet on how to get service if needed, a VGA lead (D-SUB), and a CD with the full user manual and some utilities on it. NOTE - although this is a monitor with a digital DVI connection, you do not get a DVI lead in the box.
PUTTING TOGETHER: straightforward. The base stand clips onto the monitor - I found it simple to do. All the other leads are simple to connect up too. Setting-up is well explained in the Quick Start guide and in more detail on the CD.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS: very bright screen, vibrant colours, no obvious defects. My PC did not automatically set itself to the correct (full) screen resolution. BenQ say you should select 1600 x 900 @ 60hz, if your graphics card will allow this. After re-calibrating the picture was very detailed indeed.
NIGGLES: At the bottom right of the monitor are some symbols for the control buttons. They are in raised black, on a black background and I need a magnifier to read them. Also note the control buttons are on the underside of that area of the monitor - they work well though.
My overall impression is that this is a good product, but time will tell. If I have anything material to add after longer use, I'll update this review.
