Format: Paperback
Ben-Hur (Classics Illustrated)The greatness of all Classics Illustrated books are that only the books as a whole are abridged. The specific lines spoken by the characters is not. Ben-Hur is another wonderful adaptation of Lew Wallace's famous book. Even though the whole book is abridged to the size of a large comic book, the dialogues spoken by the characters of the book, Ben Hur, Messala, etcetera is not cut short. No other comic book adaptation does it like the guys at Classics Illustrated. Its like watching a film. The drawings are also quite good. Not awesome. I always wondered that if only they were in B/W they would have been much better. But that may be my personal preference. Most people seem to prefer Comic books in colour. Like the makers say at the end of the book, "once you read the Classics Illustrated version, you will have a craving to read the original." That is a major asset in itself.
