On the run from her past, Rayna Halliday is devastated when her old car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. She soon finds that her ex has managed to block her credit cards, her accounts and even her cell phones in an attempt to exert his control over her. Giving in to him is something she refuses to do.

When the owners of O’Keefe’s Gas and Repair come to her rescue, they make her an offer that tantalizes the forbidden desires within her—she can find a way to pay for the car repairs or she can belong to them for two weeks and they’ll see to her repairs for free. At the sexual mercy of four gorgeous men for two weeks… Why not? She can have fun and get things straightened out, all at once. But there are two problems heading her way: an ex on a rampage and her heart that’s in for more than just fun.

This is a quick read, which yes, was hot and sexy, but for me when I read a menage tale, I need a HEA for all those involved, which I didn't get in this tale. Ok, the guys who don't form part of the HEA do get their own tales and their own chance at a HEA, but this was left a little too open for me to entirely believe in it.

This is book 2 set in the town of Daly, where guys outnumber gals something like seven to one, and where menage relationships are the norm - this is a set-up that seems to be becoming very common in erotic romances. A town where the majority of people have menage relationships without anyone batting an eyelid? Where have I seen that before? Only in Leah Brooke, Cara Covington and many other Siren Menage tales, but those tend to have longer novels, so those books work better - this one was a touch too short and I felt that there was a touch too much pressure on the female lead to make it great.

Basically, the female lead breaks down in Daly, when on the run from a nasty ex who has managed to sabotage her bank and credit cards, who has frozen her account and who is trying to find her. The guys happen to be the only mechanics in town and their price is that for the duration of the time that she is in town, which is around a week, she has a menage relationship with him and his boys, as she cannot afford the cost of repairs. She has a brief think about it, but can't afford the repairs otherwise, so she ends up in bed with 3 of them, with the 4th watching.

This was a bit weird, as she ended up having a seemingly HEA with the guy who initally watched, but who did later join in, before declaring that he was fine with her sharing, as long as she kept a part separate for him.

Ok, yes, the two eventually end up together, and she shows her decency as she has fallen for a person, whether or not he is missing a limb and is mentally and physically battle-scarred, but for them to end the tale giving me, the reader, with the clear impression that they will let others join in from time to time, IMHO, wasn't a true HEA. I know that at least one of the 4 gets his own tale with his BF and a female, and at least two of the others are in a M/M 'committed' relationship, so for me, this ending did not work.

Will I read another? Yes, as they are cheap enough, and generally, I do like this author's work, but for me, it's a read-and-delete book, not a Keeper.

Beautiful love story along with hot menage erotica! 9 July 2010
By S. Naude - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Synopsis: Rayna's car breaks down in a small town where there are far more men than women and menage relationships are common. She's stuck without funds because her abusive, stalker ex-fiancé has managed to get her credit cards canceled and her bank account frozen. The men who own and run the Daly Garage are gorgeous, sexy and instantly attracted to Rayna. They ask her to stay with them and enjoy a passionate no-strings-attached menage vacation while they are getting her car fixed. (NO they do not try and black mail her into having sex because she's stranded). Rayna feels an instant attraction to the men, especially the one brother avoiding her, and decides to take a chance. Jamie, one of the Daly men, was scarred and injured and now feels unattractive, and resists the strong, instant attraction he feels for Rayna. Rayna feels the same attraction, and is determined to show Jaime how much she wants him. Their relationships is tender, and sweet as it develops, even in the midst of the menage relationship with the other men in the family. Rayna comes up with an idea of how to draw more women into the town, and is thinking of staying to live happily ever after herself when the threat of her dangerous ex rears its head again. Of course there is a happy ending.

The characters were well developed. The town provides a perfect set up for more books, which I am looking forward to reading. There was a nice balance between plot and delicious erotic scenes. I think this series has great potential and I can't wait to see more!

good but rushed 11 July 2010

The story was a good read but it was definitely a little short and rushed. The characters were likable and the plot was good, but it felt like the author rushed through it instead of developing any of the characters or the story. If you're looking for something short and sweet this is for you.

Will buy more from this author 3 Oct 2010

Brynn Paulin is a new to me author but I will definitely check out her other works based on reading this. The scattered typos were the only thing that detracted from a great read. The plot was interesting and the sex was hot. Can't wait for more in this series.
