Format:Audio CD
I initially bought this album as something cheap to practice my bellydance steps to. Having said that, this turned out to a good compilation suggesting lots of freedance moves, aswell as the option to practice technique. The artists are famous, and professional dancers have based choreography around their work.
The music often has layered tones...drum for earthy grounded steps with lighter drum, flute or other instruments providing scope for fluid arms, spine and hip circles. Other tracks suggest egyptian walk, veils, shimmy or on the toes work. Having said this, what most tracks have in common is a hypnotic and exciting middle eastern feel to them - you just have to join in. A couple even mimick the noise of a clapping audience as you perform...even if it's just in your own living room or dance workshop.

As an amateur musician I'm always on the lookout for inspirational rhythms and beats, but to be honest, I was in two minds about giving this CD a try. However, my misgivings were completely unfounded! This CD is absolutely great. All the musicians featured on these tracks are professionals and the wide range of rhythms and beats is enough to satisfy any mood, be it upbeat dance rhythms or slow, hypnotic, retroflective desert beats, so Go On! Kick off your shoes and get dancing! Great stuff!

Belly good!
The CD was Ok for Belly Dancing practice, the music was a bit 'samey' but then that is the type of music. Just need to perfect my routine and this CD is great for that.

Good CD
Bought this as Ive started bellydancing - some of the tracks are good but others I found not so suitable
