I will admit that I currently dance at home for my own enjoyment and exercise and have never tried these moves on a dance floor, but this is definitely a dance instruction DVD you could use to learn Bellydance moves to use in a modern dance environment. There are 10 Bellydance Combinations. Each Combination is broken down into sections and you can see the moves done in slow motion, medium speed and fast speed. Neon is an excellent instructor who will teach you the dance steps in a sequence that makes it easier to learn. She repeats the dance steps over and over so you can keep trying. The first time I tried this workout it was a bit complex for me. I still didn't have the basic moves under control. Now, trying this months later after numerous workouts, it was easier to move smoothly and my hips had loosened enough and my muscles were more fine tuned to the motions needed to adjust to the faster pace. With this said, this workout is actually the most "intellectual" one I have tried. It is intellectually and physically demanding and that makes it a fun challenge. If you are already a dancer, you will probably learn these moves a lot faster. If you are just starting out, I'd recommend starting with Neon's Instant Belly Dancer first. In this "workout" you will learn to transfer weight, keep a bellydance head position, learn sexy arm movements, learn a pelvic release while changing levels and walk with twists. You will feel the burn in your buns and thighs. After doing this workout on a regular basis, you will notice advanced body control. Combination Three is especially good for undulations. Neon guides you through easy ways to remember how to do the undulations, which are very much a part of bellydancing and will tone your stomach beautifully. If you are tired of boring sit-ups and exercise routines that do not challenge your sexy side, then this is an excellent way to awaken your inner goddess and let her out to play. As someone who was never allowed to dance as a teenager, I must say I'm progressing nicely and learning how to dance with Neon's beautiful teaching style. This was what was missing from my life. The beauty of movement through dance not only helps you live a more creative life; it also gives you great satisfaction just when you are walking. You will notice that you move with more grace and style in all your daily tasks. Dance shoes are recommended for this workout or you can start barefoot. Special Note: This workout will tighten and tone your abs like you won't believe! ;) Be prepared for instant results. After trying most of Neon's workouts, the thing I notice most is how much tighter and more toned my stomach is after each workout.
