I originally bought this case to protect the back of my newly bought iPod Touch, as they're prone to scratching. I also wanted something that would give it a little extra protection should I accidentally drop it.
The case is perfect for my needs; I wanted a case that would protect that back and sides whilst leaving room for easy access to all the ports and the screen itself. The issue I had with a lot of cases was a flap they had designed to cover and protect the screen; I've found the screen to be very durable and scratch resistant so any form of protection over the screen itself would be an annoyance, in my view.
The case is made out of a clear acrylic material, essentially it's like a very thick and strong plastic; the acrylic itself feels very strong so I don't doubt the protection it offers. The fact that it is clear (transparent) means that you can still see the back and the sides of the iPod, should you want to look at them.
The iPod fits very snuggly inside the case; if you shake it, it won't rattle around. I do have an issue with the way the case locks however; there are two acrylic "hooks" on either side that snap into place with the lower part of the case, these don't feel as if they're as strong as the rest of the case and the whole process involves bending the small parts around to snap in place. I'm sure they're durable enough to last a long time, but the whole process of locking or unlocking the case doesn't feel very safe.
Another reason I bought this case was for the belt clip; I don't like carrying my iPod in my pockets as I constantly worry about it falling out or it getting scratched by something else in my pocket. The belt clip does the job fine, from what I've used of it; I've had no issues with it being too lose and falling off. The belt clip also doubles as a stand, you can pull it out slightly and stand your iPod up, you can even rotate the stand so you can stand the iPod on its side (great for when you're watching a video). The belt clip/stand is detachable, too.
The case itself is in the same shape as the iPod touch, just a little larger; this means that even with the case on, it still looks like an iPod. If you ask me, though, the case isn't the greatest looking of cases out there; it does have a very "plasticy" feel to it, which is very different from that of the iPod's very professional feeling finish. The hinge at the top of the case looks a little off, too. With the belt clip/stand attached the cases becomes very bulky, which again, is very different to the iPod's natural thin depth.
Overall the case offers great protection, whilst still offering easy access to all ports, buttons and the screen. The detatchable belt/clip stand is nice, it's a shame it makes the case so bulky though. It's not that best looking of cases but it does the job and it does it very well.
