From the Manufacturer Experience fast wireless network connections at an affordable price with the Belkin N150 Enhanced Wireless Modem Router. Simply connect the N150 modem router to your broadband Internet connection, and in minutes you'll be sharing the connection with all your network computers at a speed of up to 150 Mbps and a range of up to 300 meters

N150 Technology Offers Hiccup-Free Streaming Media
The N150 router offers wireless transmission at up to 150 Mbps with a long-distance range of up to 300 meters, so you can roam throughout your house while still maintaining a connection. The fast performance and great range let you easily stream digital media, so you'll have access to music and videos anywhere in your home without worry of hiccups and long waits. If you're playing online games, you'll appreciate the superior responsiveness -- connecting to the internet with the N150 might mean the difference between a win and a loss.

For maximum reliability and performance, pair the N150 modem router with Belkin's Enhanced USB adapter.

Compatibility with 802.11b , 802.11g, and 802.11n
The N150 router supports the newest accessories and products that use the 802.11n protocol, but also works with older 802.11b and 802.11g products. When you upgrade to this new router, you won't have to throw out and replace your old legacy products; keep using them until you wish or need to upgrade to something faster.

Push-Button Security Keeps You Safe
Network security hasn't been any simpler, thanks to Wi-Fi Protected Setup; simply push a button and you'll be protected from snoopers trying to hack into your network. The router also supports 256-bit WPA/WPA2-Personal and 64-/128-bit WEP encryption. Additionally, the modem router has firewall capabilities including NAT (Network Address Translation) and SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection).

Four Ethernet Ports for Wired Connection
For computers without wireless connection, the N150 router has four 10/100 RJ45 jacks.

Smart Design Gives Status at a Glance
The attractive enclosure looks good on your desk and offers status information at a glance. Green LEDs light up to let you know if there is activity in: Security, Wireless, Wired, Router, Modem, and Internet.

The N150 router is simple to set up and uses an HTML browser-based interface that can be accessed with any browser. To use the Setup Assistant, you'll need either Windows 2000/XP/Vista or Mac OS 10.4/10.5.

Good for the price 10 Jan 2011

First of all, I have to emphasise misleading marketing on the part of Belkin. Where this product is described as an N150 router, you would expect speeds of 150mbps, however the router only goes slightly above Wireless g speed, at 65mbps maximum speed.
The router is not 802.11n certified, but in practice, the range and speed are more than satisfactory for a standard ADSL broadband connection. It is certainly a fair bit faster than our old D-Link DSL-G624T router, which reached only g speeds, and began to seem painfully slow at the end of it's useful life.

Yes, it can be temperamental at times, but this doesn't mean you shouldn't buy it. It drops out occasionally but usually reconnects without needing a restart, and for little more than £20, you're not really paying for luxury, it's just a low shelf bargain!

For a basic internet connection, the speed you get most of the time is brilliant, the range is good and the level of security on the router almost reaches overkill, with the ability to make your network almost completely invisible by hiding the SSID (network name), MAC Address filtering so that only the devices you specify can access your network, even if someone else has entered the correct password. On top of all this there is a strong firewall, external ping blocking, WPA password protection and a temporary security log. Basically, it creates a "brick wall" between your network and unwanted intruders - extremely secure!

Overall, for the low price, you get a myriad of security features, dual-band wifi for higher bandwidth devices (you'll only be interested in this if you're a more advanced user), and something else equally technical - the ability to permanently lease IP addresses to wireless devices. This basically means that the space set on the router for wired/wireless devices is less likely to run out, as only a single IP address is leased once to each device.

For the fairly advanced features on the router, it is definitely worth it's weight in gold. I'd struggle to find something else that is equally advanced for the same price. Buy it now and you won't be disappointed, especially for the money you're spending.

When my old Netgear g-certified router packed up, I approached choosing its replacement with fear and trembling, having had bad experiences with setting up home networks. I needn't have worried. The Belkin shows how much home networking has advanced over the past few years.
The set-up software and instructions were very user-friendly. Set-up was not quite hitch-free. Windows 7 initially identified the new network as public. That was easily changed to "home". Then an intial failure to connect was quickly fixed by powering off then powering on the cable modem (to refresh the dynamic address?). Seconds later, all was well. Connecting other computers and devices (including an Android-based Samsung Galaxy SII smartphone) was an absolute breeze using the WPS push-button connection.
In the few days I've had this router, I have never experienced the drop-outs reported by some other reviewers. Firmware upgrades may have resolved any earlier glitches. My network has been rock-solid.
Broadband download speed tests run on the Galaxy smartphone off the wi-fi network with the old Netgear delivered speeds of between 63 and 70mbps. The corresponding figure for the Belkin was around 93mbps, a very worthwhile speed increase of around 50%, presumably delivered courtesy of the latest 802.11n standard.
In terms of range, it's adequate. My home office is on the first floor of a 4-bed detached house. I get a usable signal on the ground floor, and in the opposite corner of the house.
All things considered I rate this router great value for money for a home/office.
