The Belkin gel mouse pad is just great.Very comfortable. The design is weell done too.At first I have thought the shape is strange. However it is design according to most of movements you do by PC mouse.
The mouse pad does not slide on my desk.
The gel used for the wrist rest is firm and comfy.

Possibly one of the best things you could spend your money on, very comfy, reduces strain on you're wrist so helping to stop RSI. The mouse tracks well on the surface, looks good and seems to last well, had mine for about 6 months its as good as new. Definately a must have if you use a computer regularly.

This is a great mouse pad for those who have wrist pain. The gel is very soft and moulds to your wrist. I have also used the Kensington gel mouse pad which looks better but isn't quite as comfortable, I found that the gel was a tiny bit harder and the fabric on the Belkin makes it feel softer too, unlike the rubbery surface on the Kensington. I would buy this pad over the Kensington for comfort but not for looks... (the belkin looks fine though!)

Kensington:
+ looks cool(er)
+ mouse moves easily on surface
++ seems durable
+ easy to clean
-- wrist rest too hard
-- wrist rest friction too high: encourages movement from wrist rather than using whole arm
- does not roll up
- mouse movements make annoying noise
- more expensive than the Belkin one

Belkin:
++ wrist rest the right firmness
++ rest has low friction, enabling arm movement
+ mouse moves easily and relatively quietly
+ rolls up
+ less expensive than the Kensington one
- durability questionable
-- cleaning is going to be difficult

Verdict: If you really need this, I'd strongly recommend the Belkin.

(NB: the wrist wrest should be a back-up option -- try to avoid bad positions in the first place... )

(Edit: I'm still using the Belkin mouse pad after more than 3.5 years and it still does the job.)

I bought a mouse that is havier and much bigger than the one that i was using. So basically my hand was bending all the time when the wrist was on the table because of the size of the mouse. I went through a lot of pain and was considering of changing the mouse but then i found this pad so i thought i can give it a go...
That pad changed my life at the computer and believe me i spend a lot on it... It is so comfortable that when it wears out I'll get a new one :) Every penny is worth for that pad... If i had it earlier I could of spared the corn under my wrist from the hand rubbing on the table...

simply the best mouse pad i ever used. I have the early signs of RSI and this mouse pad is great. If I need to change position I can even reverse it and use just the pad without the wrist-rest (rotate so wrist pad is nearest computer monitor).
Light, portable, good mouse tracking for optical/laser mouse. I simply can't fault it.

It is also light enough to roll up and carry in your computer-bag if you travel to different offices a lot.

Now 4 years on, I am still using this wrist pad.
Daily use in office and at home, it hasn't failed, worn-out, or stopped working!

Incidentally - on mine at least, the wrist pad is definitely gel (not foam as another reviewer seems to think), and it has not sufferred any permanent deformation at all.

This is a well made mouse pad, which provides great tracking and an excellent wrist support that keeps you comfortable even after prolonged computer use. It is covered in black fabric that sits well with most home computers and offices and the fabric is also comfortable against the skin. This is well worth the money and a great investment if you spend long periods of time on the computer. Overall a good mouse pad for a great price.

Feel free to check out my blog which can be found on my profile page.

In my teens I used keyboard shortcuts because I could remember them.

In my twenties I used a mouse, but on the boards of the desk, because only nerdy wimps and whiney-whingers need mouse pads and wrist rests, right? (Say that when you're a bit tipsy.....)

However, having turned thirty (ok, and a bit), my wrists were beginning to ache like crazy and my frustration at the lack of mouse pointer accuracy was driving my hair to fall out and my belly to expand (alright, some of that might have been marriage, kids and chocolate cake, but you get my drift).

So, I put this on my wishlist and got it for Christmas. I have to say I might be getting old, because I really love this mouse mat / wrist rest combo. It feels so very high quality, all gel, very flexible thick rubber, and a glossy textile finish. It is actually quite small, but the mouse glides nicely across the surface and the accuracy of the pointer (the tracking of the mouse, if we're to be technical here.....) is superb.

Best of all? The gel wrist rest, complete with a little dip for your wrist, is just sooooo comfortable. A very useful, and very reasonable priced bit if kit.
