In my car, this worked well with an IPod. It simply connects with the earphone socket so will work with almost anything with a 3.5 mm jack earphone output. You need to try various frequencies to get the best one and it has to be a vacant one so if you're in a big city, you could have problems because of the congested FM broadcast band. In addition, you need to have a car aerial which is close to the TuneCast II, about I meter maximum. It works fine on my old Jag which has a windscreen aerial. The car power cable does not charge eiher your iPod, as do other similar devices, or the TuneCast II itself, which needs 2 AAA batteries.
I also tried the TuneCast II at home with my hi-fi tuner. I discovered that the range of the transmitter is very, very limited. So don't bother if you have a roof mounted aerial at home - it will not work. At best you will get a very noisy signal, lots of hiss. It doesn't even work more than about 1 meter away from a rod aerial on a portable receiver. It will certainly not provide you with a signal around the home or in the garden. In short, other than in the car, this device is a complete failure. A better aerial or a more powerful transmitter would have made the TuneCast II more versatile, shame.
