I have had a couple of Belkin units, including this one, fail to protect my equipment. Once a PC just died one day, and I found burn marks on the motherboard PSU connector. The other time with this exact unit there was a lightning strike nearby, and the computer PSU was fried along with my monitor and HiFi amplifier.
Both times I tried to claim from Belkin on their warranty. They make it very hard, and you have to send them the damaged equipment. In both cases they at first refused to pay up, but eventually I got some compensation out of them. Nothing like the value of the items though, only their "second hand" value which for Belkin means car boot sale prices.
I now have a Tripp-Lite and touch wood have no had any problems.

Ordered from Amazon on Monday PM, arrived Wednesday AM. And that was with the free delivery. Very pleased. Excellent product. Plug sockets can be turned so you can plug in two AC adaptors opposite each other, etc. A must have for anyone with computers, scanners, printers, etc.

The negative bit first - this product comes without a BT lead. Don't think as I did that you can just use one of the many you probably have laying around. The input on the unit requires a BT male socket - as does your wall socket - hence you will need a BT to BT lead with a male at each end. This does not come with this item and you can't buy them off the shelf. I cannot believe that this obvious flaw exists.
The positive - On phoning Belkin and being passed around a couple of departmenst they were evry helpful and sent me one. The kit works fine now. Why don't they just put the lead in the box????

Surgemaster
A little expensive, can not work out how to get the cable from the phone socket in to the Surgemaster!! Last anti surge unit failed and burnt out my motherboard. Read more

Beware DSL Protection
Be careful. This item specifies DSL safeguarding which I expected to mean the DSL cable would plug in directly as per th eAPC product this was replacing. Read more

Why wouldn't you buy this?
Just think you pay insurance for you house/ Flat and all of your valuable items however you don't put a surge protector on your stereo or TV package. Why not??? Read more

Good product
Easy to setup and good value offering basic protection for your important electrical appliances. Has a better feel of quality than the slightly cheaper items.
