I bought this version because the unit I originally purchased from Amazon transpired to be unsuitable for computer surge protection. I feel the descriptions on Amazon for surge protectors should be improved regarding the application aspects. As it happened the higher rated protector supplied showed signs of previous use e.g. dust in the grooves,finger marks and cable not neatly folded and tied. I complained to Amazon who gave me a very fair discount and apology. The surge protector is well constructed, the rotating sockets are useful, and it is encouraging to see the green indicator lamp that shows protection is working.

Works great the two swivel sockets are great for "upside down" or bulky chargers, which you couldn't place otherwise or would lose a socket. Only downside is the on/off switch is very sensitive so you could trip it easily with your feet if it was on the floor. I've already loaded with 8 plugs and it works fine.

I bought this both as an extension lead for my computer and the myriad of devices that seem to be associated with it, and as protection against surge. It fulfils the first task admirably, with the two rotating sockets proving very useful for block type transformers. As to the second task, I will have to wait until we have another thunderstorm to find out how effective it is, but I am assuming that because Belkin are prepared to insure your equipment against getting fried and are putting their money where their mouth is, it works! Overall, it seems well made and inspires confidence.
So why 4 stars and not 5? Because it would have been much better if each of the sockets was individually switched. As it is, there is one switch that covers all sockets.
