I just received this little USB charger plug today. I chose this after some searching on the market, because I wanted a small plug, so that I didn't have to take it out in order to close the ash tray.
This is a perfect match for my VW Lupo 3L. It fits perfectly, and there is no doubt there is perfect electrical contact. The adapter also appears to be quite energy-efficient. Contrary to most of my other original phone chargers, this does not get warm at all, despite being able to deliver 1A at 5V USB power.
As other points out, the LED is green, not blue, as indicated in the picture.

This is a truly rubbish piece of equipment. Had it 3 days and the fuse blew - charging a mobile!
Also reading round it seems it is wired up 'incorrectly'. There are two ways to wire USB charging up, one is for .5 Amps and another for 1 A which represents computer and socket output. Most devices lose power if being used while charging at .5, but will charge at 1. This is wired up so devices think its .5, and so only draw that causing many devices to either charge slowly or if its in use like a sat nav they will still run out of battery!

Wanted to use this with a Nokia E7 but didn't charge, tried another phone, same problem. Tried an old iPod Nano, worked fine. Belkin sell this as an Apple accessory so I guess I can't really complain. However there is an expectation that USB mean universal and should work with any USB device. Belkin have missed the point here, Apple may be the flavour of the month but there are 100 other devices that they could cater for easily for every Apple device. Lot of lost sales.
-Update: Did some research on this issue. It turn out there is an international standard for delivering charge to a mobile device via USB. This requires the device to ask the power source for permision to draw power if the device is a dumb device (such as this one) then it should "short out pin's 2 and 3 (D+ & D-) with a resistance of no more than 200 ohms". This device does not do this, hence won't work with a device that complies with the standard. Nokia devices appear to comply with the standard and Apple devices don't.
I tested the theory by taking the device apart and soldering pins 2 and 3 together. All my dvices now work with this now, including my Apple ones. Come on Belkin wake up its a tiny zero cost fix and gives you a larger market.

BMW 5 Series - just blows fuse
In my 56 reg BMW 5 series it simply blows the 20 amp car fuse when you plug it in.

Car USB Charger
Judging by the reviews here, this seems to be a bit of a hit or miss charger. I'm using it in a 2010 Vauxhal Astra SRi to charge an iPad and it works perfectly. Read more

didn't work
Adapter didn't work when i tried to use it in the car. couldn,t be bothered sending it back. would like a workable replacement.

rubbish - dont waste your money
Doesnt charge anything, i tried lots of different gadgets, rubbish product. Pop down to asda, they have actual working oes for the same price ;)
