I travel a lot by train so wanted a laptop bag that could double as a travelling bag from home to office. So it had to have lots of pockets so I can easily access train tickets, ipod etc. I was worried that becuase of the extra padding the bag had that it might be quite heavy like other bags I have had in the past but I was surprised how light it was. So really you are just carrying the weight of your laptop. As others have said loads of compartments to store bits and bobs. Love the outside zipped pockets great for stuff you need to easily get your hands on. I agree with others that there is no need to purchase an additional sleeve since the inner lining is great protection. I love the little zipped bag for the power cords etc thats even got a cusioned lining in it. Its a well built bag with a great comfortable wide strap which is great for walking with. Also it has a large exteranl side pocket on the opposite side to the zipped pockets which is great for storing A4 note pads and papers. I have just enough space to store my laptop, power cord, 3g card, wallet, keys and the couple of files I need for the day. Great buy -well worth the money.

I have seen a lot of reviews stating that their 17" laptop would not fit in this bag and it nearly deterred me from buying it, so I wanted to make the following comments;
- my laptop is 17.3" and fits perfectly
- the actual dimensions of my laptop(as per the manufacturer, but also checked by me) are 41.4cm wide, 27cm deep, 3.8cm high at the back and 2.8cm high at the front (the laptop slopes off towards the front of the keyboard and mouse pad)
- I even have the a 'nano receiver' for a wireless mouse attached, adding around another 1cm to the width
- it is fair to say that the laptop was a tight fit when I bought the bag, but after a few days (as with a pair of jeans) the bag 'relaxed' (!) as did the internal padding, and the laptop became easier and easier to fit in the bag
- if a laptop does not fit, there is actually a removable section of padding at the bottom, meaning that the depth would be extended so as to allow probably a few more centimetres for the laptop to slide into (depth wise)
- the ease of fit is also dependent upon how you put the laptop into the bag; the highest part goes in first (towards the back) with the lower height section (normally the mouse pad end of a laptop) going in last. This means that the zips are closing around the narrowest point of the laptop, thus making life easier
- it also makes life a lot easier if you open the zips fully before putting the laptop in the bag (and don't try to squeeze it in when the bag is half opened)
- despite the fact that a laptop can be packed so as to make it easier to close the bag, don't worry that there isn't enough space; I pack my laptop cables, a wireless mouse, a portable hard disk drive and also a notebook (the paper kind, not the pointless portable laptop kind) in with the laptop and there is enough space
My only negative comment is that the shoulder strap is 'moulded' to a shoulder shape, which makes it a little uncomfortable to wear around your neck (if like me you like to sling the laptop bag over your head, rather than carrying it over your shoulder at your side), but this is minor.
In short, it's an excellent product, and I just don't get the complaints about lack of space and size - just use it properly and it works fine.

Impressed with product - wanted something to protect my new 17" Widescreen laptop from usual family hazards (ie childrens sticky fingers /cat hairs)and to stop husband moaning about leaving my power cable lying around. Item was despatched quickly and received in excellent condition. Laptop section has velvet type protection and is well padded. Has a separate bag for securing power cable inside and lots more sections to organise your bits and bobs. Carry handle is nice and wide for going across the body. Only fault - if there is one - is lack of colour choices - love the tourmaline lining but not so bothered about the chocolate - more girly colours needed. However, overall good price for a nice bag.
