Solid Copper - do it!,

Well, the old cables are consigned to other duties.
"Yea, right...", said I, but bought anyway. This Belkin product comprises 9m of two solid insulated copper strips. The old wires weren't bad, but try this! The supplied pack is ready to go for a pair of speakers - four each of red and black pins. It's not difficult to trim, as the metal is thin enough to cut with a sharp pair of scissors or wire snips, and the terminal pins fit well. You will need a tiny (1mm) Allen key to work the grub screws that fasten the pins to the end of the strips, or resort to ingenuity. Once again, the trusty Belkin computer tool kit came to the rescue with the necessary (and, no, I don't work for them!) One of the pins had a dodgy thread, but doubling the cable over gave enough thickness to make it work. Have to say, I was sceptical, but with music the improvement in mid-range frequency response is noticeable, although bass and top-end frequencies don't seem to get such a boost. Performance is especially crisp and clear with film DVDs. Channel separation seems better because of the sharper sound. Well worth it, and a great price. Should have done it ages ago.

Sound quality good, although i bought this to do something not normal, hiding it under wallpaper in the corner, i thought it would be more flat, the cable itself is slim but the plastic sheath or armour is rather thick, i could see it being good for under carpets, but only away from a area you would step on, i think you would feel it slightly under the carpet. As i am using this under wallpaper due to not chasing out the wall, ( for certain reasons ) it may haver been more benificial to just use the speaker cables which are much slimmer than the flat wire, but as a product to use for the purpose intended it is good, so reviewed for that reason.
Would buy to lay under carpet around the edge of the room only.

I'm not technically minded but the wife's happy now the speaker cables don't wind around the walls! This cable really does fit unnoticably under the carpets & as far as I'm concerned the sound quality is as good if not better than previous. Belkin is a reputable, well known make, so it should be a good product & you won't get it at a better price!
