having purchased an iMac to replace my old Mac discovered none of my firewire cables worked anymore - this product worked straight away in connecting camera and importing to iMovie.

This cable did exactly what was required, joining an older Sony camcorder to my new MacBook Pro. Works a treat at a fraction of the cost, compared to Apple store etc. Well worth the money

I bought this cable to connect the i.LINK DV interface socket on my Sony DCR-TRV8000E Digital 8 Handycam to the firewire socket of my December 2009 Macbook Pro for transferring digital video captured on the Sony. The Macbook Pro laptop records the video using it's iMovie software. I recorded using the Sony's 16-bit audio and SP or Standard play (Short play to some) and set the iMovie software to 25 frames per second (PAL) and 4:3 Standard format to match the Sony Handycam. The Macbook recorded without any problems when set up as described. I am then able to create a good quality movie, adding my own music to the video using the iMovie editing software. The cable did the job perfectly and I'm very happy. Hope this helps somebody else with a similar Sony Digital 8 Handycam.

Arrived on time and as described
The cable is quite good and arrived on time. The only glitch was the photo shows a white cable but received a beige colour cable ( the description of the item shows as beige).
