    pros:
    - took about 10 seconds from out of the box to get it working.
    - reasonable range 15ft is about right. worked through one wall.
    - works with iphone 4 although not mentioned. having wireless is really nice with your iphone, ipod.
    - reasonable sound quality, better than those fm transmitters you can buy.

    cons:
    - as before reasonable sound quality but not amazing. For most people this will be absolutely fine, but if you are looking for perfection on your expensive sound system then you won't get it with this device, unfortuately im a bit of an audiophile and i was a little disappointed.
    - if you go out of range (little bit more than 15ft) then you have to comepletely reconnect, which is a case of going to your ipod/iphone settings and choosing to connect to the belkin device. which is quite frustrating because i assumed it would reconnect when you walked back into range.

    overall 6/10

I bought the Belkin Bluetooth Music Receiver so that I could stream music from my laptop to my speakers. I move my laptop around a lot and thought this would be useful to sit on the sofa without cables trailing to my audio unit.
The device arrived quickly, and is very simple to set up. It's nice and small so can be discretely placed next to your speakers. I had it up and running within 5 minutes however I soon discovered a major problem. The signal suffers major interference from my home wifi network. So much so that it is impossible to listen to if I have the wifi enabled on my computer or have the bluetooth receiver placed near my wireless router (also Belkin). I wanted to stream music from the internet to my speakers but this is completely impossible because of the interference.
In short, this device will work well but not if there is other non-bluetooth wireless products in the room. I think that most people now have wireless in their homes whether it comes from them or their neighbours. Therefore I only gave this product three stars. I have since researched the interference and found that Bluetooth is known to heavily interfere with wireless networks. It's a pity I didn't research more beforehand.

I was very much in two minds as to whether or not I was going to buy this product, purely because there were so many contrasting reviews regarding the quality of the sound of the product. This product is much cheaper than the alternative Logitech version of this, which seemed to be better than this Belkin one. Logitech Wireless Speaker Adaptor for Bluetooth Audio Devices This Belkin receiver is also much smaller.

After much thought I came to the conclusion that based upon my positive experiences of Belkin in the past, and for the fact that I could send it back if it was crap, I was going to buy it. After it arrived (in just two days!) I was eager to plug it in and get it going and this only took a couple of seconds and was very easy. (The instructions were very clear also).

In terms of the sound quality, I have to say that paired with my iPhone 4s, the sound is just as good as when I plug it in via the AUX cable! It also works within a reasonable range, although does cut out if you're standing too far away (obviously). The product is also very compact in size and looks great on top of my stereo.

Please do invest in one of these! Brilliant price, sound quality and overall aesthetics, ergonomics and practicality!

I wanted a bluetooth option with digital out for my fairly decent Cambridge hifi setup with a S700 DAC and Celestion F30 speakers and I have to say the Belkin sound quality is great. Granted not as good as a cd or a hard connection but I wasnt expecting it. Easy set up, cheap although that wasnt the main consideration, optical out and coaxial as well. There is a slight hiss from the speakers when the music has stopped but undetectable otherwise. I looked at units around the £100-150 mark but am well satisfied with this one. As far as range goes I went into every room in my 3 bedroom house with my Iphone that was linked to it and the music still played So if you are looking for a similar option dont hesitate

Set-up was easy. I was able to connect quickly from either my Blackberry or Laptop.

There is a HUGE amount of bleed between L/R channels in this device making nearly all music un-listenable to my ears. If, for example, you mute the left channel, you can clearly hear the right channel coming out of both speakers still. This leads to nasty phase issues whereby any instruments panned centrally in the mix are cancelled out. This is reflected in other reviews on this site whereby people describe the audio as "echoy" - stereo effects applied to vocals in the studio remain after removal of the 'dry' signal.

On retrospect - I know what to listen for. If you are not an audiophile then you can probably get away with it. I did an A/B test for my friend who agreed the sound quality of the bluetooth was worse but couldn't work out why and he said it wouldn't bother him.

    ...it's not perfect.

If you're an audiophile you'll quickly notice the drop-off in sound quality when connected to your A\V Receiver via this kit. I bought it as a cheap solution to working around the house and having my phone handy! the range is limited to around 15ft through walls\ceilings, but it's good enough around my house to allow me to have the phone nearby, rather than on my docking station in the living room. Setup is simply a case of plugging in and pairing your device, it worked first time. Shame about the loss of fidelity.
