The only connection that needed some manual configuration was the network port. This, obviously, appears as a different network device and connection, so you may need to reconfigure it for your network. I had an issue as I’ve manually configured my wired network connections to get over an issue with my WiFi, so it is possible that for some this will also work out-of-the-box.
As for the rest of the stand, it is a nice item. It will certainly look good on your desk when you’re PC/Mac is off travelling. The part of the stand that supports your PC/Mac is, I think, aluminium, which aids cooling both thanks to the material but also the form akin to a radiator.
I appreciate getting an extra couple of USB 3.0 ports, but since the stand requires one of the two that are built into my PC the gain is not that great. More 3.0 ports would have been nice, especially at this price point. Since the stand requires power to operate the USB hubs (2.0 and 3.0) are also powered, making them more reliable than unpowered hubs.
In terms of practicality this stand is ace. I now have only three cables to unplug when I take my PC away; the USB lead to the stand, the power cable and an eSATA drive connection.Read more ›
I had no problems setting the stand up or connecting a monitor to it.
I am still having problems with the display port though... ;( from installing software and it working fine via dvi to dvi, I now have a black screen on external monitor and says no input source..
Anyway, considering what this does altogether and I am sure I remember them being fair bit more expensive, this is what I feel is a really good buy.
Well packaged, fast delivery and I love using my macbook pro like this with a separate keyboard, so much more than before. And it is made only like Belkin would build ;). I would never bother with a a Henge dock considering their horizontal priced one (as much as it would be the ultimate choice).
Have just downloaded new Display Port Mac beta update and everything is working fine. And I am using a four year old 24" Dell Ultrasharp as 2nd monitor. No worries now and that is dvi from Belkin device to dvi on Dell monitor. ;) Hope this all helps someonex
I bought the USB-C to VGA adapter as that way you can use the USB 3.0 port to go to the dock and the USB-C port on the adapter can connect the charger (therefore allowing you to charge your Mac!)
Still worth 5 stars but my improvements/bugs/quirks I have seen
- the included USB3 connection could be 5-10cm longer
- occasionally returning from standby can upset the dock under Fedora - disconnect and reconnect fixes it
- more USB ports are always better :)
The video output hasn't missed a beat, but if you want to connect it using HDMI, you'll need to buy a DVI-I to HDMI adapter. Alternatively, the docking station comes with a DVI-I to VGA adapter in the box, but the HDMI output looks nicer on-screen (I tried both).
I set this up in the office with OOOOs and AAAAAHs from my colleagues. It looks super slick sitting on my desk and IMO worth every penny :)

This is a great product, but a word of caution. If you have a Surface Pro 4, don't buy this product as the moment you connect it to your Surface Pro 4, the WiFi stops working. Read morePublished 29 days ago by Garreth Hughes
