As a few reviewers have pointed out it's not a cheap form of protection. But is it fit for it's purpose?

APPLICATION
===========
I applied the overlay reasonably quickly and had no problems at all. No air bubbles. No creases. And easy to follow instructions.

DAMAGE CONTROL
==============
I did a variety of tests on the applied cover:
placed the phone in my pocket with keys and money. It passed.
Dropped the phone onto the floor when I had left it on the edge of the sofa. It passed
Dropped the phone on the pavement(although I must admit that the tests were not planned). It passed

Un-noticeable
=============
I could see it if I looked hard. But on casual inspection it is 'invisible'.

VALUE
=====
The iPhone 4 or 4s is still a valuable and costly phone. So in terms of the cost of this item it's probably good value.

👍 This iPhone 4 is unlike all overlays I have used so far. I've just applied it and it's really hard to see that it's even there. (This is a good thing - a great thing)

Application is a little annoying, it didn't seem as bad this time. (Perhaps I'm just used to putting these on).

In summary, I HATE to admit it, but I love this overlay. It's the best I've ever seen; it's almost invisible. This is my honest opinion as a reviewer. I think it's too dear to buy - £15 seems extortionate.

Update: after 4 days of use
==============

Hand on heart, I can categorically say that this is the best screen overlay that I have ever used.

(I even retract my comment about it being too dear. In the interests of full disclosure I was given this for free. Having experienced how good it is I would strongly consider buying it, even at the current asking price. It depends on how long it lasts)

I think that the marketing hype about it being "scratch healing" is marketing BS. That said, this is an excellent screen protector.

Update after four months
================
I've been using my phone without any sort of overlay or case for a couple of months now, and it's just fine. To be perfectly honest, I don't think I need a case as I'm quite careful. (Also, my iPhone 4 is over two years old now, so maybe I don't care as much)

I've had my iPhone 4 for two years and it still looks new, thanks in part to front and rear screen protectors. I decided to use protectors even though the iPhone glass is very hard and, arguably, doesn't need them.

The old front protector was scratched and looked a mess, so I replaced it with this one. It went on easily and there were no bubbles, by the time I'd finished. It smudges less than the old one and looks as though it's going to withstand scratches rather better.

Whether it's worth the asking price is another matter. If you value you're iPhone, perhaps it is, but a much cheaper one is likely to do an adequate job. Me, I'd think twice now about whether to use a protector at all.

As far as the product goes it does everything it says, although I'm not sure of the exact benefits it brings that you can't get from a much less expensive brand. Upon research I discovered the overlay is a bit thicker. While this is good news for your phone and making it more or less completely scratch resistance it makes it quite hard to apply it to the phone without any air bubbles.

In Belkin's defence it does come with a lifetime guarantee so you'll literally buy it once. It would seem if you have any issues with it or end up losing your phone or what not they'll send you a new one if you call up their customer service division.

Personally I think it is a hefty price tag given the fact the iphone size has just changed. Where does that leave the lifetime guarantee if you upgrade your phone?

The idea is very good but the two factors that make it only 3 out of 5 are the tricky nature of getting it on and bubble free even when using the smoothing card. The biggest draw back is the price and I do not think I would ever pay the r.r.p for this product.

This was actually given as a present to my wife for her iPhone 4S and she is extremely pleased with it. In all honesty both she and I would have skipped over it when looking for a screen protector based on the price alone but having experienced a higher quality product we would both be inclined to go for a top end protector in the future.

For a start, it's hard wearing enough that you don't need to worry about pesky things like keys and loose change in your pocket marking it and it needing replacing after a month, but just as importantly, there's no compromise on performance or reaction times.

If you want something that will last and last, and you don't mind spending a bit more than usual, this is the screen protector you should go for.

Any protective phone cover is a pain to actually attach to your screen - the inevitable bubble or seam always seems to ruin that perfect finish that the manuafacturer boasts about. This is no different. The cover is easy to attach but get a speck of dust under there and you've got yourself a nice little imperfection. Once on though, the cover is durable and doesn't inhibit the use of the touch screen in any way. The corners tend to accumulate some dust and thus, peel slightly, but this occurs with any screen protecter I've used. In short, its not bad at all if you can attach it smoothly.
