I'm sure most people have experienced how hot a laptop can get and it isn't very pleasant surfing the web while your lap gets hotter and hotter. Men in particular shouldn't sit with a hot laptop next to their...err...private parts, so with this in mind and my husband's love of surfing the net while watching the TV I decided to get one of these for him. However, I have ended up using this as much if not more.
It really is not anything complicated in design; it is simply a pillow with a hard surface on top for your laptop to sit on. It is slightly slanted, which is meant to make it better to type on, personally, I don't really notice the slant, which probably means it is doing its job.
I really like this CushDesk, I am currently using it now. I find that it does make a nice surface to rest your laptop on when you aren't at a desk or somewhere that you can easily put your laptop on to displace the heat.
The hard surface also keeps your laptop cooler than if you just put it on
a regular pillow because it doesn't sink down and block the air vents, making the laptop get even hotter. It also has an anti-slide strip at the top which gives your laptop that added bit of extra support, to make sure it won't go anywhere. However, I have never found that my laptop is in danger of slipping off when I use this, in fact it feels quite secure sitting on there, more so than when balanced on my knees.
