Warning: The item I received is not as described! The advertised item is described as "2100 mAh + ChargeSync cable for iPhone/iPod/iPad (F8Z689cw)". In fact, inside the box is a Belkin F8Z446 which is a less powerful, cheaper and now discontinued model capable of supplying only 1A, or 1000mA, output. This is no doubt fine for an iPhone or Ipod but does not supply sufficient current to charge an iPad 3 which requires 2.1 amps (2100mAh) - which is what I bought this charger for!

To compound the misrepresentation, the bar code and model number printed on the outside of the box, which clearly shows the charger inside to be an F8Z446, had been covered over with an official-looking sticker displaying a different bar code and the part number F8Z689cw - which is clearly not what is inside the box!

Of course I shall be sending this charger back to Amazon for a refund. Too late I now realise that on 7th November last D A Atkins of Swindon reported exactly the same misrepresentation to Amazon yet six weeks later Amazon is still sending out these chargers which are not as described. Does no-one at Amazon check-up on complaints like this?

The picture does not do it justice.
It comes with the quality you would except from Belikin
with the lead to connect to the device
Bought for an I Pad.

I checked reviews of 20+ car-chargers to make sure to order the one which actually works, and I was lucky. Belkin works like a charm, no issues, charges Apple devices immediately. I tried it with: iPad 2, iPhone 2G, iPhone 4 and iPod Classic 5G (160GB). It comes nicely packaged and feels like a higher quality product than basic, cheap, chinese plastic. I highly recommend it!

The product I received had a cheap sticker over the original bar code, and didn't contain the F8Z689cw in it but a cheaper product, BEWARE

Excellent product, charged iPad with Bad Elf GPS Plug in and TOM TOM App all the way through Europe for 5 weeks as the only means of charging, worked a treat!

Returning to Amazon as not the model they were selling. Unfortuneately I did not check the reviews and know Belkin products well enough to find out the seller Terminal 1 (Not directly from Amazon) was re-labelling to cover up the fact this is the old 5W 1000mAh model in-car charger NOT the one described. This one doesn't work with the iPad and slow charges an iPhone - RUBBISH and hard to believe this is still going on after being reported so many times over the last few months. Amazon please, please can you REMOVE THIS LISTING.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID

After reading reviews about this product and several others I decided that I would purchace this one over the cheaper versions. No problem with charging my iPhone 3gs, or my partners iPhone 4. I do find the light useful to let me know that the power is there but lucky enough that my accessory port is not on the dash of my car but in the console so it is not distracting. All in all I have found this to be a good product doing exactly what I wanted and needed it for. Highly recommended.

This charger is well made and appears to works very well too. It is very compact, sitting almost flush. My cigar lighter socket is a bit shallow and caused my old charger to regularly fall out. This one is a nice snug fit. Only tested so far on my Samsung phone but I'm sure it will work for anything else. The green LED is a bit too bright for night driving but you can turn it round to hide it with the cable or stick some tape over it. Not a big deal.

If you're having problems charging your phone then read on.
At first I thought this charger wasn't suitable for my phone as it didn't supply any more current than my ancient car charger. Feeling a bit peeved, I bought yet another charger, a PowerGen Dual USB 3.6A 18w Car Charger for Apple iPad 1, iPad 2, The New iPad 3, iPad mini, iPhone 5 4s 4 3 3Gs, Android Phones, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Google Nexus 7, Nexus 4, Nexus 10 (USB Cable NOT included) - BLACK which had dual outputs, one for Apple and one for non Apple. Annoyingly this didn't appear to supply enough charge to my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 either - grrr! I was mystified and a bit disillusioned by these so called high current chargers until I stumbled upon the real culprit - the blooming cable!!! Turns out that all but 2 of the many sync cables I own weren't able to supply the current needed to keep the phone charging. The original Samsung cable and a very chunky flat cable worked. All the others, including some other genuine Samsung cables didn't. I was amazed at discovering this fact, thought all these USB cables were basically the same. Seems like if you have a power hungry device you need something a bit chunkier to carry the current.
