im 16 i play xbox and the item is exactly as described, you put your 2.5mm jack into the item which converts it into a standard 3.5mm jack.
this was perfect for me, i had Turtle Beach headphones and i wanted to use the mic on my laptop to do commentary for my videos , however the mic cable on the headset was a 2.5mm for the xbox controller, this item worked perfectly its small, its very strong and it works completely fine, the delivery wasn't early, nor late.
PERFECT i would strongly recommend this product

I bougth this adaptator to use it with my 2.5mm Sennheiser CX300. The earphones sound quality is not penalized by this Belkin adaptator, but the earphones jack does not fit perfectly, so if I move the cord, noises appears.

guys, not for adapting 3.5mm(ie normal headphone) sockets to the 2.5mm ones found on phones/pda's... dont buy if thats what you looking for!
