This review is from: Belkin FLIP 2-PORT KVM W/REMOTE * DVI-D; USB; AUDIO (Electronics)
I have two desktop Dell PC's next to each other and thought I could save some space by incorporating a KVM (keyboard, video, mouse)switch.
This model is for the DVI-D connectors (white), USB mouse keyboard and a single green audio input (so no 5:1 surround sound anymore). The first annoyance is that it is much bigger than I thought with large video cables that are almost non flexible. I found that wherever it was positioned the slightest movement caused the USB connectors or the audio connectors to come loose. These need to be a tight fit but they were not. I found that one of my graphics cards a Nvidea Geforce GTX 5500 caused white horizontal interference across the 24 inch Samsung Monitor. The ATI Graphics card in the second PC was OK. Swapping the KVM switch over confirmed it was this card combination and not the monitor. A second criticism for those who may be colour blind (10% of males) is the curious colour combination on the remote switch. A dark yellow/light green LED that looked exactly the same to me so was no use in identifying which PC was active. The thing I did not realise was that the audio is only one speaker connection negating the sound system on sub woofer and surround speakers. A whole day spent fiddling around and the inevitable occurence where even with the switch over delay sometimes the mouse was not recognised made me decide that this was too much hassle and the item is being returned. It was not faulty just not compatible with one of my PC's and generally annoying in too many respects.

All good, but one little thing worth mentioning.
I have had no problems with it it has a handy little control button that you can put on your desk or near the monitor to switch between systems. it has a simple LED that shift colour to indicate which system you are on. the cable set up is hiden behind where the PCäs are stored. my desk is very clean now. you need to make sure that the two PCäs are not more then a meeter or so apart, not sure about the exact lenght. one cable end is short and the other one is longer so it can reach up to a laptop docking station on the work bench for instance. also, the USB connection works a a real usb hub, so you can connect web cams or card readers or anything else you want to switch at the same time as themonitor and keyboard. mouse and auidio output is alsow switched. now to the little thing I think they could imporove. there is a delay in switching, it is the time it takes for the PC to detect the mouse and keyboard, and any other USB equipment you hang of it. it would be nice if the device simulated the mouse and keyboard towards the PC when you switch to the other PC, this way there should not have to be a delay.
