Review

This excellent book gives details of methods and techniques which can change inner beliefs, helping the individual to overcome emotional, psychological and even some physical problems. It is written in a clear and easy-to-understand way, suitable for newcomers to the subject as well as to those with some previous knowledge. The combined work of the three authors with their vast experience will be of benefit to sufferers, carers and professional therapists alike. --Ursula Markham, Founder and Principal of The Hypnothink Foundation.

A well-presented book, that is easy to follow. Great headings and sub headings. The client cases presented are very informative, interesting and summarised in the end. There is enough detail for the reader, but not too much, therefore not to confuse or bore . The book can be used by beginners. It takes you through the limiting beliefs and the structures, how to release them and how to re-imprint new positive ones, with NLP. I do believe that one doesn't need to use NLP and that any therapist in the field can use the techniques. A great read and informative. --Jas Bassi Adv Dip Hyp, GQHP, GHR

5.0 out of 5 stars Believe you can always "do" better... 18 May 2012
By Mark Stipanovsky TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Robert Dilts, Tim Hallbom and Suzi Smith have revamped a book which has the ability to cure the "uncurable"...

I work with beliefs and have learnt lots of very interesting stuff from Robert even though I have never met him.

I have very successful outcomes in my client work and put this down in part to my expectation and belief that people can get better...

"Present (problem) state + resource = desired state"

A very simple and effective NLP formula for change.

It would really benefit you to put your current belief system to one side and read this book with an open mind because this information works on many different levels.

The authors have a wonderful style of writing and invite to imagine you are a participant in one of their workshops. Take the time to play about with the exercises and you will be pleasantly surprised at how powerful and quick change can be.

The book is split into 7 main chapters:
1. Beliefs: Identification and change - this covers a model for change and some really graceful ways of uncovering information and how we actually create and structure reality.

2. Reality strategies: how do you know what's real? What an amazing question...

3. Belief strategies: this is when you start to comprehend that maybe your beliefs are not actually "yours" and may be unhelpful...

4. Re-imprinting: page 87 and 88 has a great summary of the actual NLP change technique and you may need to check out the glossary if you are unfamiliar with NLP terms. If you are reading this book because you are unwell then this is part of your journey into wellness.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very good book 2 Mar. 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Beliefs is a very good book about how to use NLP on beliefs and some other beliefs-related things. The only thing preventing me from giving it five stars is that I was somehow expecting a bit more insights on core beliefs.
