After the battle the in Rak Cothol, will they escape the falling city and make it to the Vale of Aldur with Murgos on thier tale? You'll just have to read the book to find out, and this is one hell of a book, will they get to Riva on time? This has got to be one of the best books of the series and the end is amazing.

This continues the story of Garion and company.Ctuchik has just been killed,and now they need to get to Riva to return the Orb by Erastide.Once they get to Riva,Garion and Ce'Nedra both get a bit of a shock,as somethign totally unexpected happens.It's the best book in the Belgariad series,and absolutely great!

I love this series. Eddings has really formed a group of characters that I connect with and love. I think this book is one of the best in the series - Garion and Ce'Nedra in particular are really coming out as strong characters.

Best book of the series to date. The characters grew into themselves, the plot advanced and characters (Garion the protagonist in particular) finally learnt things we have been told in previous books, removing the occasionally annoying need for the character to ask stupid questions.

This book has given me high hopes for the last one.

I like the way the story continues to unfold. There is fantasy, a love interest, almost a murder she wrote element to the story which would suit different reading styles.
