Book Description

26 Mar 2008
What Is Love?

In this thoughtful, provocative work, Osho—one of the most revolutionary thinkers of our time—challenges us to question what we think we know about love and opens us to the possibility of a love that is natural, fulfilling, and free of possessiveness and jealousy.

With his characteristic wit, humor, and understanding, Osho dares us to resist the unhealthy relationship patterns we’ve learned from those around us, and to rediscover the meaning of love for ourselves. “By the time you are ready to explore the world of love, you are filled with so much rubbish about love that there is not much hope for you to be able to find the authentic and discard the false.”

By answering the questions that so many lovers face, Osho shares new ways to love that will forever change how you relate to others, including how to:

• Love without clinging
• Let go of expectations, rules, and demands
• Free yourself from the fear of being alone
• Be fully present in your relationships
• Keep your love fresh and alive
• Become a life partner with whom someone could continue to grow and change
• Surrender your ego so you can surrender to love

Being in Love will inspire you to welcome love into your life anew and experience the joy of being truly alive by sharing it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just amazing! 21 July 2010
By diana
Format:Hardcover
This is for me one of the most precious books of Osho! It is no surprise that before I reached page 100 I went and ordered another five copies to offer to my beloved friends and family! I strongly recommend it to anyone interested in the matters of love, relationships, raising kids!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not sure about this one... 1 Nov 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Although there are some inspiring concepts in this book i didn't find it practical. The examples used in this book are relevant to relationship dynamics of the Indian culture but not necessarily to western relationships > one gets his point but I wasn't sure how useful to my life. Osho emphasises the need for freedom in relationships which makes sense and appealed to me, but by the end of the book he seems to give a clear message that open relationships are the anwer. Might be interesting for some, but not all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love it! 25 Feb 2008
By Rf Wheeler - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This is the latest official Osho book and, at this stage, I could buy it only on Amazon.com. I have read probably 12 of his books, every one more than once, and with this book I will do the same.

Not everyone resonates with his message, some find it too challenging, but for me it meets my experience and then leads me deeper into it. It is enlightening.

Like his others, this book deconstructs the illusions we live with and puts us in touch with a deeper or higher level of insight, with specific reference to being loving and relating to others, both intimately and generally.

As far as I know, you won't find better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Explains a lot... 10 April 2008
By Tyeese Gaines - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
Once I realized the book is a compilation of speeches rather than a "written" text, the book was much more enjoyable.

The concepts are quite interesting and left a few gems that I'll be thinking about for a long time -- if not utilizing. Only 1 or 2 concepts were possibly too radical for me right at this moment, but for anyone in a long-term relationship or who's ever experienced heartache, I think it touches on feelings that we've had but didn't know why or how to break out of the cycle.

It's totally not a self-help book. It's truly the philosophy behind love. If you want something to debate with a group of guys & gals on a Friday night, get them all to read this book and see what comes of it!

4.0 out of 5 stars good reading 6 Jun 2008
By John Philp - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
The book starts out really good, but then you realise it has limitations because it was not written as such by the Rajneesh (OSHO) but rather is put together from interviews he had with couples, and so there is no flow as such. But otherwise he is a very clever insightful man and there is lots to learn from his unique way of looking at human relationships

5.0 out of 5 stars great for those in an intimate relationship or those aspiring for one! 27 Jan 2010
By Robert Shrem - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
osho has some marvelous insights into love relationships... unusual for an "eastern mystic." he seems to understand the complexity of the issues... I have benefited immensely from his work while going through some challenging relationship issues.... his writing is simple and straightforward; easy to understand... a great book to share with a partner... will especially benefit people who are familiar with eastern meditation and mysticism

5.0 out of 5 stars OSHO never disappoints! 29 April 2010
By lccilliyah - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
OSHO's new book is what I feel to be a continuation of Love, Freedom and Aloneness. His view of love is revolutionary and eye opening. I love his way of making points through stories that are funny and aspiring. His idea of love is universal, and not limited to only one type of love like that of a mother, son, or wife. In truth he talks about loving each individual on the basis of love itself not on the title that person has in ones life. A must read for anyone willing to discover a new way to love without limitations and conditionality's.
