Beautiful melody but lacks variety

Being Julia OST has a beautiful main melody which occurs over and over again throughout the tracks. I especially like "Curtain Up" and "Quite Alone". However, Being Julia OST doesn't have other strong melody to show along side with the main melody which seems a little too simple for a complete album. The movie is great too. Annette Bening's performance is outstanding.
A Little Pricey but More Enjoyable than the Film!

I liked Annette Bening in her Academy Award nominated performance as Julia, the British stage actress, but the film's script is weak at times. The supporting cast included Miriam Margolyes, Juliet Stevenson, and Jeremy Irons. Stilll, I think the soundtrack is far more entertaining than the film itself. There are few songs but the original score is worth listening too and is inspirational at times. The original score is also light, refreshing, and light all at the same time. I enjoyed listening to it in my car driving.
If you liked the film, you love the soundtrack. If you don't care about seeing the film, you will enjoy light airy original score that should have been up for an Oscar nomination too.

The music in the movie was sharp, well mixed and the balance was very good. When I played the CD I purchased I was constantly adjusting the equalizer and all the delivery systems which did not balance the sound. This CD is frustrating to listen to and I would not buy it again because it does not deliver good sound.
