Ever since I heard of all of the Fountain of Love stories, I was really excited to read them. I think the idea of the whole sort of standalone series thing is so interesting and neat. There's a few of the same going around lately, and they're all interesting, but I'm liking Fountain of Love the most so far.
Being Jane is definitely one of my favorites, too. It's kind of a simple story to start, with Jane being a kind of everyday sweet girl who's been trapped most of her life by overbearing parents. One day, in comes one of the most popular boys at school, Dusty, and during a party they kiss.
Everything goes from there. I liked the fact that it sort of stops after that. Dusty has a girlfriend, and this is 4 years earlier in the story. Jane can't date because her parents won't let her. When Dusty goes to college, he thinks that's it. Jane's kind of trapped still, and she thinks that's it, too...
And then a whole bunch of things happen. I don't really know how to explain it besides that. The story starts off interesting, but more level-paced, and it escalates from there. I liked that part of it, where it's kind of the calm before the storm? You can see there's some things that are going to happen from a distance, but you don't expect them to happen so swiftly. It's an emotional rush, and one I really enjoyed.
Being Jane is one of the most interesting new adult romances that I've read in a long time, though. I've read some other Arabella Quinn stories, and all of them are wonderful, but I really really enjoyed this one. I'd highly recommend it. It's a great story to start out with, and I'm pretty sure after you've read it you'll be hooked on her writing and continue with more.
