Product Description

All episodes from the first to fourth series of the BBC comedy drama about three very unusual flat-sharers. At first sight there doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary about George (Russell Tovey) and Mitchell (Aidan Turner), but both harbour dark secrets. Once a month, geeky hospital porter George is transformed into a rabid, flesh-tearing werewolf, while womanising, man-about-town Mitchell is trying to forego his blood-sucking vampire instincts. As they take the keys to their new home, the boys discover that their flat has another occupant - lonely ghost Annie (Lenora Crichlow), who died in a car accident days before she was due to marry her fiancé. The episodes comprise: 'Flotsam and Jetsam', 'Tully', 'Ghost Town', 'The Black Day', 'Where the Wild Things Are', 'Bad Moon Rising', 'Cure and Contagion', 'Serve God, Love Me and Mend', 'Long Live the King', 'Educating Creature', 'The Looking Glass', 'In the Morning', 'Damage', 'All God's Children', 'Lia', 'Adam's Family', 'Type 4', 'The Pack', 'The Longest Day', 'Daddy Ghoul', 'Though the Heavens Fall', 'The Wolf-Shaped Bullet', 'Eve of the War', 'Being Human 1955', 'The Graveyard Shift', 'A Spectre Calls', 'Hold the Front Page', 'Puppy Love', 'Making History' and 'The War Child'.

Product Description

United Kingdom released, PAL/Region 2 DVD: LANGUAGES: English ( Dolby Digital Stereo ), English ( Subtitles ), WIDESCREEN (1.78:1), SPECIAL FEATURES: Box Set, Interactive Menu, Multi-DVD Set, Scene Access, SYNOPSIS: Russell Tovey stars as the lovable George, battling with his double identity as a mild-mannered and geeky hospital porter who for one night a month is transformed into a flesh-hungry, predatory werewolf. Aidan Turner plays the good-looking and laid-back Mitchell who, in contrast to George, has the gift of the gab and an easy confidence with the ladies. But he is also a blood-sucking vampire struggling with going cold-turkey from the blood he craves. Completing the flat-share trio is Annie, played by Lenora Crichlow, a talkative ghost lacking in self-confidence and desperate for company. Annie is still pining after her fiancé, whom she was due to marry before the fatal accident that left her with her ghostly affliction - and who happens to be the landlord of their flat. Follow the trio as they do their best to live their lives as normally as possible despite their strange and dark secrets. But with unwelcome intruders into their world, rumblings about an impending revolution from the vampire underworld and constant threats of exposure - on top of the usual issues faced by young people surrounding love, work and mates - the only thing they may be able to rely on in their heightened world, is each other. SCREENED/AWARDED AT: BAFTA Awards, ...Being Human (Complete Series 1-4) - 11-DVD Box Set ( Being Human - Complete Series One to Four )

5.0 out of 5 stars Not a bad bar joke 12 Jan 2012
By Kazgirl
Format:DVD
For those of you unfamilar with the premise, a ghost, a werewolf & a vampire walk into a bar..........ok there is no bar these three supernatural characters share a house. Yes it does sound like the begining of a bad joke but "Being Human' certainly is no bad joke. Well written & superbly acted, this series runs the gauntlet between humor & drama effortlesly.

The set itself isn't the complete series ( a 4th one was recently announced)but with the departure of key characters at the end of season 3, it is likely that this is the "pre shark jump' of the series. As to the look of the set, it's fairly basic, three plastic dvd cases & an outer thin carboard box to house them in.

As is common ith dvds there are some special features, fairly stock standard (deleted & exteneded scenes, cast interviews etc) but at this price I wasn't expecting anything with a "wow" factor, besides, the show itself has enough wow to suit even the fussiest of viewer

To sum up, a great buy for rainy days, sunny days, cloudy days however maybe not on a full moon...werewolf Geogre may just find you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Just briliant 20 May 2011
By Gina D
Format:Blu-ray
This is an excellent box-set. Highly recommended, and not just for scifi or supernatural lovers (which I am not).
The show is funny, brilliantly written and full of suspense and the acting is excellent. Russell Tovey puts in a great performance as the uptight George and the gorgeous Aidan Turner plays angsty Mitchell to perfection, swinging between dark and light at the drop of a hat.
The special features are also good.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great purchase for fans of this brilliant show! 21 April 2011
Format:DVD
When i initially tuned in to series 1 of Being Human, i was a bit unsure of the concept it sounded like a bad sitcom with a werewolf, ghost and vampire sharing a flat together. However, i'm glad i gave it a go and was rewarded with a compellingly acted, well written supernatural show which had it's own unique identity from other supernatural shows i have seen and retained some good British humour.
The cast work very well together and have believable chemistry so you are hoping they will over come their many challenges, the storylines are interesting enough each series and my only criticism for the show overall was that series 2 was a little too dark at times with the storylines and tone in general, series 3 however retained more of the lightness of series 1 but still had some dark moments throughout.
Was pleased to hear the BBC have renewed the show for another series and after the emotional ending of series 3, it looks like the show could go in many different directions creatively and i'll be tuning in next year to see more adventures of George, Annie and company, while this is isn't the definative boxset it has some good extras and I recommend it to individuals looking for good british sci fi besides Doctor Who.
