Product Description

V-AMP 2: The next step in virtual amplification. Like our already legendary original V-AMP, the V-AMP 2 is based on state-of-the-art amp modeling technology, allowing you to achieve a wide variety of realistic amp sounds without the hassle of miking an amp. To that end, the V-AMP 2 now features twice as many amp models for 32 total, plus our 15 original speaker simulations, which can be selected and activated independently of the amp models. Read on: you'll see why the V-AMP 2 is suited for much more than just home recording or practice applications. For extra tone-shaping power, the V-AMP 2 boasts a built-in 24-bit studio-quality stereo effects unit with an impressive selection of specially developed, great-sounding algorithms, including chorus, tremolo, compression, noise gate, delay and much more, plus several combinations. A separate manually or MIDI-controllable wah-wah effect and 9 stereo reverb types are available in combination with any other effect, amp or speaker setting. In addition, 2 effects parameters are now directly accessible. You still get an integrated chromatic tuner, a tap tempo function for real-time adjustment of the effect's speed parameter, an adjustable stereo aux input, a stereo line output with speaker simulation, an effective 3-band EQ with amp-model dependent characteristics, a master volume control and an adjustable headphones output. Plus a MIDI interface for real-time remote control and automation, data transfer and access to additional parameters, and 125 onboard presets, organized in 25 banks and including 50 presets by renowned guitarists. In addition, the V-AMP 2 features five practical configuration modes for various applications and a presence control that simulates the negative feedback of tube amps. Plus a new preamp bypass function that allows you to use the V-AMP 2 as a stereo effects unit and dramatically improved gate and noise reduction circuits for better sound quality and an impressive signal-

Seems brilliant 5 July 2010
They've stopped making these apparently, now that the V-amp 3 supercedes it. But i got one yesterday - basically just for playing the guitar with headphones - the sound is brilliant! You can turn a knob and it gives you loads of different amp sounds so that your guitar sounds like a warm bluesy valve amp, or surf rock or heavy metal. Another knob selects all sorts of effects. There's a reverb knob as well, plus gain, bass, treble etc. The Wah wah effect sounded good, plus i liked the various echoey ones and I tried out the tap button, which seemed to work - you can tap the rhythm so that it echoes at the right speed - like U2 or something. You have a knob to vary how much the effect comes in - there are a lot of knobs!

There seem to be loads of output and input sockets, plus it comes with a sturdy canvas bag and foot-pedals.

If you bought all these effects separately you'd pay a fortune. I don't know why you wouldn't want one of these - it is great!

V Amp 3 April 2012
By Chris
Great sounding bit of kit. HOWEVER the power supply connecor is beyond a joke. Fragile isnt the word. Ive now been through 3 of them, and its incredibly frustrating. Its as if Behringer deliberately made weak power units so that you'll have to go out and pay them for more. They bend and snap at the slightest pressure. Pathetic, and puts a big downer on what is other wise an awesome bit of kit

A better (even decent) psu would have given this an easy 5 star from me. As it stands i'll give it one star so people can see this major flaw

A very handy tool for recording studio guitar players. Loads of cool, usable sounds, small and lightweight and easy to carry about. I use mine a lot when I'm recording but, on the down side, the jack ins and outs are not too robust and for that reason I wouldn't recommend the V Amp 2 for stage stuff. I made up some short male to female jack leads that I leave plugged in so I never have to disturb the V Amp's own ins and outs. Bottom line though, for the price it's amazing!
