Good Entry Mixer 7 Nov 2008
By J. Blalock - Published on Amazon.com
Pros: This product is good for its price, holding the saying "you get what you pay for". Good documentation in the manuals so you can easily learn the functions of the mixer, and with 5 channels + a mic you can have all your equipment playing at once. The sliders move smoothly and it is easy to get precise control for the exact volume. Some good key effects and reliable kill switches give the beginner on a budget a little edge over the others.

Cons: If you are cueing something and the track that you have live is at a soft part, you can hear it over the live mix---basically this mixer does not cut off any channel completely EVEN with all three killswitches on---which is quite unfortunate as hearing a cue in the background of a soft vocal is not ideal. Also, the connections are standard analouge only, unlike the DJM Series mixers which have a digital input, resulting in better sound quality. The BPM and Effects button also have some issues, the BPM is not reliable and is usually off by at least one or two values--stick with your decks BPM counter if using this mixer. The effects button also sticks sometimes when you try to turn it off, making your mixing less precise.

With this mixer, you do "get what you pay for". Its really a bargain for beginners or those on a budget, but if you are serious about good sound quality and top-notch effects, definitely go with the DJM-800 from Pioneer, it outclasses this mixer 10 fold.

Overall, a good purchase for the beginning/learning DJ.
how does this compare to DJX750? 12 Jan 2011
By kat - Published on Amazon.com
I used to have this mixer. I was used to using a Pioneer mixer with the same effects and options and this seemed like a more affordable copy of that. I am wondering if anyone has tried the DJX750 (supposed to be an upgraded version of this) and how that compares? They seem very similar, except the DJX750 is almost $100 more and has this in the description:

Intuitive operation with built-in digital effects processing. Click to enlarge.

State-of-the-art 24-bit digital effects with advanced parameter control.

Intelligent dual auto-BPM counter with time and beat sync display.

Dedicated mic channel with three-band EQ.

Not Just a DJX700 Dressed in Black!
DJs the world over love the DJX700, so when Behringer began design on the DJX750, they had to do something very special. They started by revving up the FX processor and putting advanced parameter control right at your fingertips.

No longer are you confined to rigid presets that limit your creativity. With the DJX750, you can change FX parameters on-the-fly, pushing your performance to the next level. In no time you'll be creating powerful sets with your own custom-tailored effects sounds, all of which can be controlled in real-time. Some parameters at your disposal include Bit Crusher depth, manual filter sweeps, Panning (LFO Rate), delay/echo time and much more. You can even set delay and echo timing relative to the internal BPM counter for extremely musical results. It is kinda like a DJX700--but one on steroids!

Really good digital effects add the finishing touch to a solid performance, and ours are really good! With 33 outstanding effects to choose from, including an assortment of Phase Shifters, Flangers, Reverbs, Delays and more, your audience won't know what hit them. There are even Auto Filter and Voice Changer effects that will take your show to a whole new level.
