It was delivered to me on the first day it was expected to be delivered, it was well packaged, when i opened the box it came with everything i needed to start playing the guitar for the first time, including picks! I run my computer on Windows 7 and had some problems installing the ASIO driver to start with, but i downloaded an update so that it would run on vista and that worked after that, when i finally got to playing it, it was awesome and i cant stop playing it. Things you will need before you buy: 1/4 Jack plug for headphones and headphones so that you can hear, i havent got to using it with an amp yet

The guitar is an exceptional value for money. I've played for 20 years and I can attest that it's worth every penny. Fine quality craftmanship and great playability. It has an over the top "strat" tone. Sounds more "strat-like" than a strat. I'm thinking there must be some sort of active pickup pre-amp "EQ" being powered by the usb. For what you get in this package, and the fact that it's so well made and sounds so musical, you will not be disapointed. I see that although it gets some harsh reviews (most because of the limited Guitar Rig, it's still a great value. I use the full version of Guitar Rig 4 and Amplitube 3 so my review might not be entirely fare. I haven't installed the Behringer addition of Guitar Rig but I can imagine that it will be a little frustrating for a new guitar player who will be limited (eventually) by one amp. Still, don't let this put you off. All and all it's a very musical instrument with good intonation and looks as well built as any Mexican stratocaster but it's lighter and I think a little bit better balanced. The strings are a super light guage but leave them like this if you're a brand new beginner. When you change the gauge of the strings to something heavier, you'll get a richer deeper more musical tone, but you'll also have to adjust the truss rod and the string height which may be a difficult. Thicker guage strings are harder to play as well and are harder on your inexperienced finger tips. Leave the strings alone for a long time until you're confident. This guitar is now discontinued. They do make other versions of it though but they are a little more expensive. Get one of these if you can. It arrived the very next day in perfect condition by regular UK Post.

I'm not really a guitarist and, having bought this primarily for the purposes of sampling, don't feel qualified to comment on the build quality other than to say that it *is* great fun and sounds pretty convincing to my untrained ear.

The updated ASIO driver (downloadable from Behringer's site) gives very low latency on my system. However, laptop users may experience problems with audible mains hum unless running off battery (though this is something which I've been able to more or less eliminate).

The packaged NI software offers a wide range of amp and effects modelling with two notable drawbacks: firstly, of the three included 'combos,' you only get to register one for permanent use and, secondly, the combos aren't useable as VSTs, so in order to record a modelled sound (rather than a clean signal, which is simplicity itself)you'll probably require an external recording device. Alternatively, if using Cubase, etc., you can use Amplitube or NI's Guitar Rig.

In summary, when you consider the price, this is a very decent and enjoyable bit of kit. Of course, you also have the option to simply plug into your own amp and pedals if you just want a nice, white guitar.

The included software doesn't work with new macs and the company pedaling it (Native Instruments) will only provide an update if you spend another £89 on the full version (which is discontinued anyway!)

Their support forums are terrible: The only guy who replies to customers problems is a Marc Schonbrum who seems very good at passing the buck anywhere he can on technical issues, and resorts to saying "i cant help i'm only a moderator" to anyone who (like me) feels ripped off. If NI had told me straight away, then maybe i wouldn't feel so cheated but instead i had to trawl through the forums and download their confusing auto updater before finding out that "The update is for owners of NI Combos, not Behringer editions.."

Amazon - As always i received my order on time, and in good condition but you need to update your product write up as unless your customers have older machines you might as well leave the "lovingly emulated tube combos" out the box.

Primarily i got this item as a USB interface. It boasts full ASIO compatability. I tried it on 2 windows based systems and only just got it working. I had to set my latency really high to actually cut out all the clicking and popping. By the time i get the real audio interface working the results couldn't lift my spirits. The amps and effects available for use are highly compressed and feel plastic and synthetic. As a usb interface i never managed to get it working, i'm told that Pentium driven systems (inc macs) have issues with this guitar, but there's no warning of that here.

As a guitar it's very sub standard. The pickups are quite bright and chirpy on clean settings but sound hideous with gain or distortion. I even added compression but the screetching was still present.

...On the plus side the neck is really nice maple.
