Product Description

Review

Laala has an inherent sense of beauty and timing coupled with wisdom beyond her years that serves not only to mold incredible word sculptures but also the very thoughts of her readers. --L. Stephen Meck

There is a definite candor in Laala's poetry, but a wonderful gift as well for her readers. Her words are full of insight, compassion, and beauty. A beautiful collection. --Lisa Zaran, author of 'The Blondes Lay Content'

Laala has the ability to take common emotions and shape them in a way that is both honest and original. Her works are incredibly passionate and very real and altogether unparalleled. --Kyle Lanter

5.0 out of 5 stars Breath-taking!, 15 Dec 2006
By Jezzy Wolfe "Jez" (Viginia, Usa) - See all my reviews
Laala's ability to convey the pains and pleasures of a coming of age in a world frought by controversy and conflict is nothing short of genius. She paints emotions as vibrantly as an artist, and conjours images that are so prolific that they linger in the reader's mind long after the book is closed. 'Behind the Mask: A Folded Heart' is an unforgettable journey into the mind of a poetic prodigy far ahead of her time. With such superb imagery, this chronicle is both visceral and tender hearted. An enjoyable read, and hopefully, a portent of more to come from this extrordinary author.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Hideaway, 10 Dec 2006
By Taufiq Khan "TK" (Sydney, Australia) - See all my reviews
"Behind the Mask: A Folded Heart" is a warm and complementary mix of the scribbling of a teenage girl and a passionate and powerful set of works written by an honest poet. In this collection, Laala manages to grab hold of the deepest and darkest of our emotions and mold them into shining monuments. She isn't afraid to be open; to be able to portray her true emotions without a trace of fear or discomfort. This is apparent throughout her writing and is truly inspiring for readers like myself. This particular volume is a refuge for me; a hideaway from the outside world, for minutes at a time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mohsin Amiri the King of Kings, 13 April 2007
This book is sexily emotionally compounding, it binds ur heart up like how lettuces bind fruits in a Ceaser Salad. Now i truly know how Leonidas felt when Xerxes placed his over pierced hands on his shoulders and whispered in his ears *I like Spartans*.

The very essence of this book hits the perfect hormonic chords and tingles ur body as you scream out orgasmic cries of joy saying *DENIS BERGKAMP DENIS BERGKAMP DENIS BERGKAMP OOUUAAAGGHHH*

All in all i rate this book a 5/5 simply because the cover felt like a babies but cheeks and everyone loves baby but cheeks.
