A very good collection, providing a detailed analysis of some of the key characters of the Mafia, including Capone, Siegel and the Gambinos.
Also good if what you wanted was a broad picture of the era of the Mafia.
You certainly get more than enough for your money :)
However, the screen can be a little jumpy when the dvds are playing, although it usually straightens itself out after a short while.
Also, at points the narrator can be a bit monotone, although this certainly didn't wreck it for me.
In all, a good buy!

I highly recommend this boxset. First it is excellent value for money, I have seen it sold for £30+ on other sites. Secondly, the analysis of the key mafia figures is excellent, particularly Costello and Gambino. It will give you a good insight into the structure and workings of the organisation, and probably make you want to find out more. Overall, excellent!

I watched all 6 of them at the same day. They didn't tire me at all. My only complaint has to do with the packaging of the set. The dvd boxes were broken (almost all of them). Fortunately, the discs were not.
Very interesting presentation of 6 of the most famous (or notorious - call them any way you want) criminals of all times.
Unfortunately, the one that was missing, and in my opinion, should exist instead of Goodfella, is Lucky Luciano.
I believe the set would be more complete, due to his involvement in the high levels of the crime syndicate and also because of the innovations he presented to the Mafia organization, regardming its transformation from locally organized groups to panamerican institution.
