Product Description

Walerian Borowczyk (The Beast, Immoral Tales) keeps faith with his highly erotic and colourful visual style in this highly charged convent romp. The myth of a convent as a serene and reverent haven is completely blown out of the water as Borowczyk takes the viewer through an amazing repertoire of sexual behaviour. A Mother Superior desperately tries to prevent her charges from experiencing the sins of the flesh with little success and eventually the church has to exact cruel punishment for the nuns' outrageous behaviour

At the same time, a particularly disturbed inmate manages to poison herself and many of the other novitiates in yet another scandal which is covered up by church authorities. ...Behind Convent Walls ( Interno di un convento ) ( Within a Cloister )

5.0 out of 5 stars it's full of light 6 Feb 2010
A beautiful box of light and a joy to behold, a joy unending and bright as the sun.

The plot (what plot there is) is paper thin (Nuns go to seed) and the dialogue empty but the light!

Photographed by the same cinematographer who shot Susperia this film shows the joys of sexual release through showing light bleeding through windows, through gratings, through minds.

This film is the cinematic equivalent of a Light Box.

HIGHLY recommended.
