Insightful 7 Dec 2009
By Mueller
Format:Hardcover
The book is a great guide for applying behavioural finance in practical client advising. It combines insights from decision theory, portfolio theory and behavioural finance to derive scientifically-founded solutions for client advising. The book style combines explanations, practical examples and case studies. "Math boxes" set out the mathematical foundations of selected theories and examples. It is perfectly possible to skip the math boxes and still follow the main arguments of the book, which increases the book's appeal for practitioners.

Disapointed 24 Oct 2009
Format:Hardcover
I purchased this book to get an overview of behavioural finance in order to better profile clients, but I didnt expect that I needed a PhD in Finance to understand the concepts. The authors go into way too much theory which is targetted at expert finance mathematicians. I follow the CFA program but that is not enough to understand some of the mathematics in this book. I skipped most of the book to get to the parts that really we interesting, because there are sections of relevance to bahavioural finance.

Excellent Guide 8 Dec 2009

Great book. It combines insights from decision theory, portfolio theory and behavioural finance to derive scientifically-founded solutions. The book combines explanations, practical examples and case studies. "Math boxes" are used to set out the mathematical foundations of selected theories and examples. The book is very readable and therefore recommended for practioners (the main arguments of the book can easily be followed without advanced mathematical skills).
