Within three pages of this book I thought yes that's me, that's answered my questions, that explains a lot about me and my behaviour, lifestyle and thoughts. I lost a long term relationship due to being abused as a child and not dealing with it, and this book helped me to look forward and realise that I wont let that happen again.

Like their other book, "Courage To Heal", this book is a must read for those in the abused community. It will help you to understand so much of what goes on inside the minds of those that have been abused. A Book that should be read by everyone, abused or not. Prevalant information and help, as well as inspirational.

Courage To Heal by the same authors is excellent aside from one issue - they've imported the American edition and you need a magnifying glass to read its close-set typeface.

Beginning to Heal is great not just because it provides the essential edited highlights of the larger book, but it's printed in 11-12pt and you can actually read the text in large sections without straining your eyes.

Even though I've got "Courage" I'll still pick this up one day as it's an ideal maxi-pamphlet for the days when the larger book is too much work.
