3.0 out of 5 stars An okay book, 17 Jun 2009
By Ben Nash "aspiring game designer" (Hampshire) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Bought this book as it was cheap and wanted a fairly general introduction to level design.

The book is essentially a discussion of things to consider when creating levels using a game engine such as CryEngine or the Unreal engine. A little outdated now as it refers to engines available in 2005. Still the information supplied is applicable to any of todays game engines.

The author is very funny and I enjoyed reading the book. The book is however a little short and would benefit from a more structured approach to the subject.
