I read the first edition of this book, and liked it so much that I wanted to read this new update. Everything about this book is fantastic! All the code works beautifully, and I got my very own e-Commerce Website up, and running ready for potential buyers!! This book has a tremendous amount of information on building your very own database driven e-Commerce Website, and a powerful Website it is. All the material in this book was well layed-out, and in the end the reader will have received a marvelous amount of training on developing a database, tables, stored procedures, Web User Controls, etc. I never had any problems in understanding the author's explanations, and all my code worked exactly as explained in the book. What I also liked about this book is that you options take your new Website to the very limits. You can integrate your e-Commerce Website with a 3rd party payment processor, and this book shows you in detail just how to accomplish it. If you want to process your credit cards; this book shows you how to set-up credit card-processing working with a credit card gateway. The chapters in this book are divided up into three(3) unique stages of Website development, and at the end of each stage you have an e-Commerce Website ready to upload to your server. If you do not have your own Merchant Account to process credit cards, you can decide to just use Stage 1, or Stage 2 for your development. Stage 1 shows you how to integrate with PayPal's free shopping cart, but in Stage 2, you can build your very own shopping cart with all the extra features you might like. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in developing an e-Commerce Website, including any college computer science class that wants to teach its students about developing e-Commerce Websites.

Great Job Authors!!!

After I have tried a couple of other books on e-Commerce with ASP.NET, I read this book - and it answered all the open questions that had arisen while reading all the other books! If I just had got this book from the start, how much time I could have saved!

Really an extraordinary book. Thanks to the authors!

Total agreement with the previous reviewer. An excellent book covering so much that the other books tend miss out. Although aimed at E-Commerce, this book is useful for anyone wishing to move from the basic concepts of ASP.NET to creating a full application be that E-Commerce or otherwise. I bought the other Apress books in this series too. This title is the jewel in the crown though.
