A great value for money 3 disc Box Set...The 1st disc in this collection starts off with a number of familiar standards which define the genre, the originals of which were to become the staple diet for groups such as the Rolling Stones,The Yardbirds,Spencer Davis Group and numerous other British RnB groups from the 60s, but if you are like me its nice to have them at hand gathered together on one disc. The 2nd disc offers up lesser know Rhythm and Blues artists which is the main reason i bought this box set many of which seem to be rare as hens teeth. The 3rd disc is very much in the Soul vein, with many well know Soul artists such as Betty Everett, Jerry Butler, Gladys Knight and the Pips and shows the way the Sound developed into what was to be known as Soul. I can thoroughly recomend this box set to Mods or if you want to get an insite into the sounds the 60,s Mods were listening and dancing to back in the days...Keep the faith

real rhythm n blues 25 Nov 2010
By jimelad
Format:Audio CD
i really enjoyed this box set.It covered the spectrum of early rhythm n blues via blues, rock n roll and soul.It was nice to hear some of the more obscure tracks as there was some great gems amongst them. You can hear the inflences of people like Fleetwood Mac,Led Zepplin ,The Stones and lots of other great British acts from the 60s/70s.This is well worth the money.Have a listen and enjoy it.
